After Harry won the Triwizard Tournament, everything changed for him. Everyone thought he was lying about Voldemorte's return, and a few people also blamed him for Cedric's death. Ron was still mad at him for 'sneaking' his name into the Goblet, and Hermoine was just annoyed he got to skip a few classes with the other contestants. ###I DON'T OWN HARRY POTTER OR THE COVER PHOTO###

Post-war. Twenty-one-year-old Harry Potter is disillusioned with the Auror Corps as he has some residual spell damage and can no longer partake in active field duty. The young wizard is regulated to his desk at the ministry, and thinks that he should be doing more and not getting "special treatment", as it were. Severus Snape, now the Deputy Headmaster, has become a bit of a recluse, and is only seen in his potions classes or at mealtimes, and spends the rest of his time brewing. None of the professors can get through to him, as the man doesn't seem to want to listen. Minerva McGonagall, now the Headmistress of Hogwarts, decides that enough is enough, and so she hires Harry as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, in the hopes of filling the position, and getting Severus out of his funk.

Harry defeats Voldemort in the graveyard and suddenly finds himself with a lot more time to focus on his studies. Severus sees that Harry is truly gifted at potions and once Harry leaves school, offers him an apprenticeship. But as the two work closely together for an extended period of time, Harry starts to notice things. Outdated customs, skirting around certain subjects and intimate knowledge of rituals and spells long forgotten to the general populace. Severus has been hiding a large secret indeed. Now Complete!

Harry and Professor Snape walk quietly down the stairs after their meeting with the Headmaster... And they find themselves both in a dark and wet room without any exit in sight.
