This is an AU from the book serie "Aru Shah". Big part of the characters are from the awesome Roshani Chokshi. Aru have lost everything because The Otherworld, a secret spy society. The ones that were supposed to protected her, turned her back to her when they discovered who her dad was (a murder part of the Dark). They killed their mother, a member of the society, and left her in a world of shadows. Her father, the Sleeper, took care of her and her big sister, Kara, after that, teaching them how to use their powers and turning them in murderers. Even though Aru try to keep everyone away, she let pass her walls to Yamini, Mini, her best friend, who was recruited to form part of the Dark, when the Otherworldly rejected her for her brother. Meanwhile, Aiden hates the Dark with all his heart. They took everything from him and he had to live since then with his cousin Rudra, Rudy. He trained to became a spy like his parents with her awesome best friend Brynne Rao, and taking care of two orphans with special abilities, Nikita and Sheela. But what happened when Aru and Aiden get to know each other for the first time? When they stories collided and find someone just like them, but that's fighting for the opposite? Aru Shah finds herself trapped in a repeating time loop inside Augustus Day High School. Along with her new acquaintances, she is forced to search for the dismembered body parts of a young girl in order to break the cycle and bring back the dawn of a normal day.

Aru Shah wasn't remotely in the place to have another relationship, much less settle down and start a family. Heartbroken from her ex boyfriend attempting to cheat on her with her older sister Kara, another relationship was way out of the question. Aiden Acharya had never wanted to get married. He had never thought about it seriously, because that was dangerous. It was dangerous to think that he could get married, because the more he put into people, the more terrifying it was. Risking being anything like his dad was too much to ask for, so he would play it safe. So when the only match that Aru and Aiden's mom bring home happen to be eachother, the boy Aru has hated since middle school for reasons that shall not be disclosed, and the girl Aiden has always found a little strange and who has also hated him since middle school for reasons he was unaware of, it became even more unlikely that they would get married. But both succumb to the pressure of their family, and both agree to meet eachother, eventually concocting a plan to fake date eachother so their parents realize how horribly suited they are for marriage- and for eachother. One thing leads to another, and both Aru and Aiden find themselves wrapped up in a rollercoaster of secrets, built up emotion, and unanswered questions. Can they find their own version of forever together? It is also, unexpectedly, a murder mystery. Because on the second night in Hampi, a body turns up in the temple ruins. A stolen divine artifact is missing. And the only two people with the knowledge and the clearance to do something about it are Aru Shah and Aiden Acharya, who can barely look at each other without two years of unsaid things rising to the surface, which makes the enforced proximity either the worst possible timing or, if Sheela's cryptic non-prophecies are to be believed, exactly the right kind. I randomly thought up of this while humming "Never Acting at All" by Melina KD. Yes, I just created Song of the Sea, for those of you who are here because of one of my other fanfics, and I haven't finished any of my other Aru Shah fanfics, but I got an idea, okay? Aru Shah's an actress. No, not a famous one, but enough to make money while she works on her (not yet published) books, just enough to live in a small apartment, afford groceries, and also own a small laptop. Aiden Acharya's an actor, hard at work, working to become a photographer. He's pretty famous, mainly for his looks, but he also works on only small plays...all of which get sold out quickly once people figure out that he's acting at that play. What happens when they both try out for, "The Little Mermaid" musical, and they get cast as Eric and Ariel? They both know that a relationship is unprofessional when you're both in a play together. But what will happen? What if they fall in love? (All characters, that aren't characters I created, belong to Roshani Chokshi, I think that that's her name, I forgot, and this is a human AU!
