“I’m sure that on my birthday when my wolf comes out, it would reveal that Sarah is my true mate.” I suddenly stop savoring the chocolate mousse cake in front of me as I heard him say that. “What would you do if it turns out that she’s not your mate?” I heard Maxine, who was seated beside me, asked Xander. But I didn’t even glance her way. I was looking intently at Xander waiting, no wanting to know his reply. “I’m sure she’s my mate, but if that would happen I’ll still choose to be with her rather than some random she-wolf.” Xander had that determined look on his face, as if telling us that he would not accept any other female to be his mate other than Sarah. Oh yeah Sarah was the girl he’s been dating for a year now. All of a sudden I felt gloomy. The cake I’m so wanting to eat a while ago didn’t look appetizing anymore. “What can you say about that Samantha?” I abruptly looked at Maxine and without even thinking I said. “If I was your mate and you’d still choose Sarah…” I momentarily paused, as all of my friends surrounding the table looked at me, including Xander. The look on their faces shows as if they were really interested on what I’m about to say, so I blurted out. “I’ll dig myself a hole and bury myself alive.”
