Joey bloody Lynch. The local junkie of Elk Terrace and, lucky me, my next-door neighbour. When I first moved here, I'll admit, I was curious. I mean, he's got that whole brooding, strung-out thing going on. I used to wonder, what's his deal? Who is he, really? What's the story behind the lanky lad who looks like he hasn't eaten in three days and acts like the world owes him something? Well, spoiler alert: he's a walking disaster. Personality-wise, he's an absolute car crash. Rude. Arrogant. Moody as sin. Honestly, one year. That's what Auntie Lisa promised. And then I can go. Back to London. Back to people who actually know how to hold a conversation without twitching every five seconds. But here I am, stuck in some grim corner of Ireland with Joey Lynch keeping me awake every bloody night. He's in my head like a bad pop song. And maybe that's what hate does. It doesn't burn hot-it festers. Keeps you up. Gnaws at you. And yet, for some infuriating reason, I can't look away. *** Olivia bleedin' Smith. Lives right next door, and thinks she's queen of the estate. Walks around like she's got a crown on her head and diamonds in her shoes. You'd take one look at her and think, "Ah, she's sweet. Bit posh. Keeps her head down." But nah. That girl's got fire in her belly and a tongue like a feckin' dagger. She's the type that'll look you dead in the eye, tell you exactly what she thinks of you, and not even flinch. And trust me, she's told me plenty. Thinks she's above it all - above me. Gives me this look sometimes, like I'm some grubby stain on her fancy trainers. All sharp jawlines and pouty lips, always flicking her hair like she's in some perfume ad. She's insufferable. Stubborn as hell. Always has to have the last word. And yet... there's something about her. Something I can't shake. She's like nicotine. One glare from her and I'm hooked. Can't decide if I want to scream at her or kiss her just to shut her up.

Reese Holland has always kept her head down, hidden behind a mask of humor and sarcasm, doing her best to ignore the chaos of her home life. With a drug-dealer brother, her other brother who spent his days trying to save himself and her, an alcoholic mother, and a father who was never around, Reese has learned that survival means staying quiet, keeping to herself, and never letting anyone get too close. But when she crosses paths with Tadhg Lynch-handsome, popular, and one of the most notorious members of the Hurling team-things begin to shift. Tadhg's focus on her, his interest in her, is something Reese can't ignore, even if she wants to. As the lines between friendship and something more blur, Reese is forced to confront feelings she's been burying for years. And as her relationship with Tadhg deepens, she's left questioning everything she thought she knew about herself, her family, and the life she's been trying to outrun. With friends like Landon, Jonas, and the ever-bitter Hannah, Reese finds herself caught between laughter and heartbreak, sarcasm and truth. Each conversation, each moment shared, only brings her closer to unraveling the truth-about Tadhg, about her family, and about the girl she's been pretending to be. But nothing is as simple as it seems. As secrets unfold and tensions rise, Reese must face the one thing she's been avoiding her whole life: the possibility of feeling something real. In this emotional and raw coming-of-age story, Reese learns that some things can't be fixed, but maybe-just maybe-she can learn to break free and build something new.

Joey Lynch doesn't have time for Tommen girls. Not when he's got four younger siblings hanging off him, a father who treats his face like a punching bag, and a dealer waiting for his money. His school uniform smells like smoke, his knuckles are always split, and he's got a short fuse and a long list of people he doesn't like. Life's a grind, home's a warzone, and feelings? Not on the menu. Then she opens her mouth. Preslee O'Connor. Tommen royalty. Rich girl. Sharp-tongued, well-dressed, drunk off her arse and stumbling outside Biddie's bar like she owns the street. He should ignore her. He wants to. But then she talks. And she's smug. And rude. And annoying as f*ck. And now he's stuck with a walking headache in lip gloss and designer boots. She thinks he's scum. He thinks she's a spoiled brat. They're both right. They fight like it's foreplay. They argue like it's oxygen. And somewhere between the insults, the eye rolls, and the 'accidental' run-ins, something starts to shift. Something dangerous. Something real. But this isn't some sweet, enemies-to-lovers, kiss-in-the-rain bullshit. This is secret glances in crowded hallways. Swearing across pub carparks. Biting, bleeding, pretending you don't care when you do. It's everything messy, unspoken, and off-limits. Because Joey Lynch doesn't get good things. And Preslee O'Connor was never supposed to look his way. Too bad neither of them knows how to quit.

𝙀𝙇𝙀𝙊𝙉𝙊𝙍 𝙃𝙊𝙇𝙇𝘼𝙉𝘿 had never stood a chance of 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 the cycle, not when the same cursed blood that ran through his veins, ran through hers. Eleonor never really felt like she belonged anywhere. At home, her mom's eyes were always too wide, too empty-surrounded by those dark rings that never went away.
Her dad barely moved from the couch, empty beer bottles scattered around his feet, the TV always playing some hurling game no one really cared about.
And Shane, always pissed off at something. Always looking for a reason to snap. She never wanted to be there. Not really. Not ever. She got passed from one house to the next. Foster care from foster care. No one really wanted her. Not the real her. Most of the time, it felt like they just wanted her to be quiet, obedient-easy to handle. Not another traumatized kid. Not another mouth to feed, especially one that talked back or cried at night. Then, when she was six, something different happened. She ended up in a home where people actually saw her. Not through her, not around her, but her. Like she mattered.
There were two other kids. And there was Joey Lynch, a boy who had his own kind of quiet chaos, but who made her feel like maybe... maybe she wasn't alone in her mess. And maybe, somehow, the two of them could figure out how to break the cycle. The heaviness that always seemed to follow kids like them. "Didn't take you for the type to gatekeep a place like this," Celeste teased, a grin tugging at her lips as she took in the breathtaking view before her. "The view's grand, isn't it?" "Yeah, it is," Tadgh murmured, but his gaze never left the girl beside him. A Boys of Tommen fan-fiction about Tadgh Lynch and Celeste Feely. (AGED UP)
