Welcome to Nerve. A game like Truth or Dare- minus the truth. Watchers pay to watch. Players play to win cash and glory. Dares given by the watchers, dares accepted or denied by the players. Once a dare is denied you are disqualified. Team up with other players to complete the impossible. The longer you play, the more money you win, the harder the dares become. Do you have the nerve?" Vee's a senior in high school, who has her entire life planned out (down to the hour). She's comfortable with a schedule, it's what she knows best. When a simple app takes over her friends' lives she has nothing to do, but wonder, 'Why is this so intriguing?' Sean, one of Vee's very close friends, has become a constant watcher of the game Nerve. Due to his interest (along with threatening bankruptcy), Vee decides to check it out. She thinks it's just a silly game until she gets dared to play. Vee is enjoying the most heart throbbing, frighteningly lovely dares with her new partner- Ian. It's all fun and games when you get to play the same game Vee does. Ignoring the warning signs, Vee stays in the game longer than she should have. Nerve takes a frightening turn for the worst, and Venus' stable, simple life is turning to borderline madness. What if being an individual was against the law? The very fabric of your existence controlled by people whose faces you have never seen? How would you feel knowing that any and every part of your identity is an exact match to the people around you? The freedoms many of us take for granted are the pleasantries only granted to the lucky winners of a draw? Celestial Rayne is a product of such a society, a society where you have no right to be different from the people around you. The women all have the same hair, the men are the same height,no one has a favorite color or unique story. The supreme court known as "The Makena" monitors the progress of the population hoping to solve the seemingly greatest flaw in the human intellect. Judgment based on personal preference. The main way to test the theory of preference is to remove the different traits from the people around her. Rayne soon becomes accustomed to the life she was born into not questioning the need for the daily injections never questioning the overly controlled society. That is until the day "The Makena" decide to draw select individuals to monitor without the serum. Soon Raynes outlook on the world around her changes. Will the taste of freedom be enough to change Raynes normal opinions on the people around her? Will being able to see the physical differences cause her to question the way of life she has always followed in the past? And how will she deal with the attraction she feels to the one person she will never be able to be with?

I-I really shouldn't be letting you in here. But I d-don't know what else to say, with a soul as black as night, melting in decay. With a mind as clouded as the sky and a heart that only learnt to cry itself to sleep at night, hoping to survive. As I burry myself into this hole the only thing left to say is "Welcome to my soul."

" Dear Max I know that you asked me not to call or go to you. But You never said I couldn't write. Now I know I'm probably not the one you want to hear from but I needed you to know. Max I'm pregnant. I know to have to do what you have to do and I'm not trying to get in the way of that. I don't want you to give up alpha position to help me, I don't expect you to come back or even help with this child. I just needed you to know that you are a father. I will do this alone, but if you ever wish to meet the child. You know where I will be. Love Rose."
