She used to believe love could heal anything. But that was before the sleepless nights, before the panic attacks, before the kind of loneliness that eats away at your soul. Now she moves through the world quietly, carrying the ghosts of her past on trembling shoulders - invisible, but heavy enough to crush her if she ever stopped moving. Every day feels like a test of endurance. Some mornings, she has to convince herself just to get out of bed, to face another day that feels exactly like the one before. She barely leaves her apartment unless she has to. The world outside feels too loud, too sharp, too full of reminders of everything she's lost. And yet, she still goes to work, to class, to anywhere that might help her hold on to the dream she refuses to let die. Architecture. It's the one thing that still makes sense to her the idea of building something beautiful out of nothing, of creating spaces that make people feel safe when she never truly has. Drawing lines, shaping structures, sketching designs in the quiet hours of the night, that's where she finds her calm. Her mind may be chaos, but her plans, her blueprints, they're order. They're hope. Sometimes, her hands shake when she holds the pencil. Sometimes the tears blur the lines on her paper. But she keeps going anyway. Because somewhere deep down, she believes that if she can build something that lasts, maybe she can prove to herself that not everything breaks. She may be surviving more than she's living, balancing her dreams and the weight of her past with quiet desperation but she hasn't given up. Not yet.

'Solitude' Philosopher Philip Koch defined it as "A stretch of experience disengaged from other people in perception, thought, emotion, and action" Solitude is an experience that can exist regardless of physical location, defined by the "absence" of other people, internally otherlessness, a spiritual/philosophical concept regarding the dissolution of self and a literary/existential term for extreme isolation. At forty-five, Professor Loredana Dove has built her life on control. Keeping her colleagues at arm's length and her students at a distance. At home, her marriage to an absent, quarrelsome wife is crumbling, leaving her to raise their five year old daughter in quiet isolation. She has convinced herself she needs nothing more until Romina Maple crashes into her classroom. Nineteen smart, and reckless, Romina is the youngest in her year. To her classmates she's the loud, infuriating party girl; to herself, she's struggling with mental health, taking care of her three year old brother and the only responsible adult in a house run by aging grandparents, her defiance masks hunger, her insolence disguises fear. Their lives should never touch. Yet hunger recognizes hunger. What begins as irritation morphs into fascination, into a closeness neither woman knows how to resist. Boundaries blur. Rules splinter. And both must face the truth: some desires do not starve quietly, and some silences can undo a lifetime of control. Our Shared Solitude is a story of two women who should have walked away yet found themselves consumed by the one thing they were never meant to want.

Drew is just trying to survive life let alone high school. Her two best friend are her entire world and she loves to dance. There's a new English teacher in town and Drew's path is not as straight forward as she thought it would be to graduation. *smut and other mature content!* Excerpt: "You look beautiful today" I paused "uh..... not that you don't look beautiful everyday. Uh... I." Why was I nervous! I, Drew Line, never get nervous around girls. She started laughing at me. "Drew chill." She smiled. "What can I do for you?" She asked standing from her desk. I checked out her body. God I wanted to touch her. I need too. Suddenly my confidence came back. I walked slowly towards her. "I just wondered if you'd like to give me extra lessons." I said about 3 steps away still getting closer. "Drew your grades are great. Why do you need....." My lips closed around hers so quickly she was stunned. She kissed me back for a moment then broke the kiss. I stepped back and she looked at me with a questioning look again. They didn't speak. Didn't count steps. They just... moved. Her hand on Aleah's waist. Aleah's fingers brushing her wrist. One step forward. Two back. Turn. There was no rhythm but them. No choreography but instinct. No noise except the beat of Niki's heart and the slow, sure way Aleah never looked away. At the end, they didn't stop moving. They just slowed. Held on. And didn't let go.... When a salsa class throws two stubborn women into each other's rhythm, the sparks fly, the friends meddle, and the footwork gets a whole lot more complicated. A queer romantic slow-burn full of witty banter, found family, accidental eye contact, and the kind of tension you can't dance your way out of. Author's Note: The story is mainly in Niki's POV, but changes in between as per the story requirement.
