Locals loved him, and his bar quickly became a refuge for those looking to unwind after long days. That stability shatters when Oscar Piastri opens a therapy clinic directly above the bar. Almost overnight, Lando begins losing his regulars - people who now choose healing over drinking. At the same time, Oscar watches his patients struggle, relapsing the moment they step outside and hear the pulse of music from downstairs. Each man becomes the other's problem, a constant reminder of everything they disagree on. They clash over principles, over responsibility, over what it means to help someone survive. Different mindsets. Different ways of coping. Neither willing to concede. Until a teenage girl named Eveline forces their paths to cross in ways neither of them can ignore. Bound by circumstance and an uneasy truce, Lando and Oscar are pushed into reluctant cooperation. And in the quiet moments between closing time and opening hours, they begin to see past assumptions - learning that care comes in many forms, and healing is rarely as simple as choosing the right door.

Lando Norris has his life mapped out - a stable job, a respectable engagement, a future everyone keeps telling him he should want. But lately, everything feels like it's closing in. The ring on his finger feels heavier by the day, the smiles around him tighter, the walls of his own choices drawing closer. Then Oscar walks into his life. The man he shouldn't have met. The mistake that wasn't supposed to follow him into daylight. Now, standing across from him in the same department, the feeling Lando tried to bury breathes again - calm, composed, and entirely out of reach. They're supposed to be colleagues. Professionals. But every argument, every shared glance, every late night spent working becomes a reminder of everything Lando's trying not to feel. And the more he tries to run from what's expected of him, the more he finds himself drawn toward the one person he shouldn't want.

No one in Formula 1 ever expects two drivers to think the same way. Not when every corner demands instinct, every braking point reveals personality, and every lap tells the truth about who you are behind the wheel. Which is why the first time Oscar Piastri's telemetry matched mine, people laughed it off. Coincidence. Luck. One strange overlap in a sport full of them. The second time, they frowned. The third time, they whispered. By the fourth, no one was laughing anymore. Because our data wasn't just similar. It was identical - curve for curve, corner for corner, choice for choice - as if he had reached into my head and stolen the rhythm of my hands, my instincts, my heart. No one could explain it. And the more it happened, the harder it became to ignore the question sitting like a stone in my chest - Why us?

(Book 1 in the Hallowick Trilogy) When Oscar leaves Melbourne with his father, trading the vast city for a quiet Scottish town called Hallowick, he expects small streets, colder weather, and a slower pace of life. What he doesn't expect is Lando. Lando lives in Hallowell Manor, a sprawling bed and breakfast run by his mother, Cisca, who also owns the town's curious little shop, Eternal Lights. Warm, witty, and endlessly curious, Lando pulls Oscar into the rhythm of Hallowick, the festivals, the changing seasons, the traditions that shape the town year after year. From Halloween lanterns to Christmas lights, from New Year's fireworks to summer fairs, the town itself seems to guide them closer. But Hallowick is not only quaint streets and winter markets. Beneath its charm runs something older, something stranger. Lando and his mother carry a family gift. An inherited magic that whispers warnings, reveals unseen truths, and senses danger before it strikes. It's a blessing that feels at times like a burden, and one that Lando finds, strangely, a little easier to bear when Oscar is near. Over the course of a year, Oscar and Lando's friendship begins to shift, deepening into something neither of them can ignore. From hesitant laughter to late-night confessions, from quiet companionship to the spark of something undeniable, their story is one of trust, belonging, and the courage to let love take root. Set against the backdrop of a town alive with festivals and secrets, Hallowick is a tender, poetic romance woven with moments of magic. A story of first love and found family, of community and quiet devotion. A reminder that sometimes the most extraordinary magic is simply finding the one person who makes you feel at home.

First written on ao3, now also here :) STILL GOING!!!! Setting: A small UK school in 1996. Photography club, darkrooms, grey skies, hallways buzzing with Walkmans and corded phones at home. Lando and Oscar are in their final year. Oscar Piastri is the quiet, but confident, observant lead of the school's photography club, always behind the camera, rarely in front of it. Lando Norris is loud, unpredictable, and sentenced to the club for detention hours. He mocks it at first-until it starts becoming his favorite subject. As they develop film together in the red-lit darkroom, Lando sees himself through Oscar's lens: softer, more human.
