Will is avoidant and spends most days in the basement, and Mike has never felt so alone. Then the power goes out, and Mike desperatly wants to understand what went wrong, and to know what that damn painting means. or Seven nights in which Mike and Will have to sleep in the same bed, even though they're barely friends anymore.

"And if I said I did? If I wanted you to kiss me right here, and right now? What then?" Will's breathing was ragged. Mike's eyes light up, he wets his bottom lip, glancing between Will's eyes and his lips. "I would do it. I would do anything you asked of me." He admits. They locked eyes, the heat and tension that had been building for months at this point, Will couldn't wait any longer. Mike leaves Hawkins unexpectedly on Halloween 1983 and loses touch with Will. When Mike arrives back in Hawkins nearly 10 years later, Will doesn't recognize him. This story is about Will finding out who he is and why he left.
