She didn't hear him approach. That bothered her more than the ache in her ribs. "So," So'lek said, stopping beside her and sitting. His tone was light, almost careless. "Is this where you go when you pretend you're not bleeding?" So'esya snorted, eyes still on the glowing forest below. "Is this where you go when you pretend you're not worried?" A beat. Then a quiet breath of a laugh. "Careful," he said. "You'll bruise my pride." She finally looked at him. Moonlight caught the scar on his temple, the one she never stared at. Never traced with her eyes. "You worry loudly," she said. "And you," he replied, stepping closer, voice lowering, "disappear like mist and expect no one to follow." Their shoulders brushed. Barely. It was nothing. It was everything. "So'lek," she murmured, softer now, "if you keep watching me like that, someone might think you care." "I do," he said too fast. Then, after a breath, he added, lighter, teasing, careful, "Someone has to make sure you don't get yourself killed without witnesses." She smiled at that. Small. Sharp. Dangerous. For a moment, neither of them moved. The forest hummed. Pandora waited. And neither of them said the thing already rooted between them, because once spoken, there would be no going back.

In the forests of Pandora, a spark burns brighter than fear itself. Elunai, a young Sarentu, has spent her life in captivity-until she finally tastes freedom among the Kinglor trees, the wings of her ikran beneath her, and the laughter of those she calls family. But beyond the safety of her home, danger is never far away. Once more, the Sky People threaten everything she loves. Alongside So'lek, Tamtey, and the other Sarentu, Elunai must learn what courage, trust, and family truly mean. When she volunteers for a mission that could cost her life, she does not expect the son of the legendary Toruk Makto-Neteyam-to change her fate, or her heart. A story of freedom, loyalty, and unbreakable bonds, set in a world where love and bravery shine brighter than any darkness. ⸻ Before you read: - This story contains spoilers for the Avatar films and the game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. - Content warnings include death, mental health themes, violence, blood, injuries, self-harm, strong language, and sexual content. - This story is set in the Avatar universe, owned by Disney, Lightstorm Entertainment, Massive Entertainment, and Ubisoft. "Words, Ka'riya," he said quietly. "I need words." My throat worked before sound followed. Heat crept up my neck, settling in my cheeks, and I looked away despite myself. "Yes," I said. "I am sure."

Fourteen years after the sky burned and the Trr'ong were erased, Pandora still remembers the sound of wings and warriors in the sky. Tsa'kori survived the fall of her clan by fleeing to the Western Frontier, carrying nothing but her faith in Eywa and the ghost of who she was meant to become. In the long quiet that followed, she learned to heal, to wait - to believe that survival could be enough. But when the humans return, the forest begins to choke once more, and restraint is no longer an option. A new name spreads through RDA ranks like a prayer turned curse: the Breath-Stealer. Far from her, another legend is already walking a bloodied path. So'lek, the Dog Tag Warrior, hunts the humans who returned to Pandora, taking their trophies in memory of a mentor lost and a promise broken at Ayram Alusìng. Where Tsa'kori strikes from the sky, he stalks from the ground - driven by grief, sharpened by rage, and unwilling to let the past remain buried. Two survivors. Two myths born of the same war. And when their paths finally cross, Pandora will decide whether justice is found in vengeance - or in what remains after it. One steals breath. One steals names. Pandora remembers both. ~ Disclaimer, i own nothing but Tsa'kori and any character that does not fit into the avatar universe already. Will be a slow burn! (I think)

In the wake of fire and ash, Tamtey returns changed, alive, but carrying wounds no flame can show. So'lek, bound by silence and guilt, stands watch over her healing, loving her in the spaces where words fail. As the forest regrows and scars remain, their bond is tested not by battle, but by the quiet courage it takes to stay. Moments full of restraint and yearning, where love is not declared, it is endured.
