The Second Giant War was gruesome. With only 3 of the 7 left alive, they demigods of prophecy left the camps. They were unable, or maybe just unwilling, to be in the places where their friends once walked. They chose to escape the world of demigods while they still could. They wanted to try for normal so that maybe, one day, they could forget any of it ever happened. They wanted peace and safety. Nico... well, Nico had other ways of coping. ------------- Nico had had a long life. 16 years old, plus however many had passed in that cured casino had left little joy in his life. He had lost his grandparents, his mother, Bianca, his friends, and then Hazel... he missed her more than he could bare. He only knew his sister for around a year before he had lost her, and not a single day had passed in the last two years that he hadn't thought of her. He couldn't go to either camp or the underworld without feeling like his chest would explode from the pain. He knew she was in a better place. Her and Frank were in Elysium with Jason, Piper, and the rest of the heroes that died in the wars. She was at peace. Maybe she had even managed meet his mother and they were watching him now... though he honestly hoped they weren't. There are certain days that you know you will remember for the rest of your life-- the days where you made a decision that changed the trajectory of your life forever-- however Nico never thought that May 14, 2016 would be one of those days. To him, it had just been another day... and then Percy happened. "I think we should start a band," Percy said out of the blue. Nico shrugged. "Sure. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?" A Lot. They blew up. Their first album was No. 1 on Billboard's Catalog Albums chart for 15 consecutive weeks. Overnight, they became famous. They went from playing at CHB talent shows to filling out stadiums in the span of a few months. For 3 years they made music and toured... and then they didn't anymore. December 26, 2019, exactly 1,321 days after their band had been created, it was done. The media was in a frenzy, trying to figure out what happened, but no one ever said why.
