Eri Akira Sakurano, 2nd year high school student at Ouran Acadamy, surpassed her first year of high school. Before joining the host club, Eri had only one friend, Hiro Saito, who moved to America when they were in sixth grade, primary school. When Saito moved away, Eri refused to make any friends for an unknown reason. She was considered a loner, by those who acknowledged her presence. According to Eri and Haruhi, they had met in a "commoner's" store, despite Eri being wealthy, he enjoyed going to the stores, which is where the two met. After a week of Haruhi's attendance in the host club, Eri was invited to join the Host Club, who made a decision after attending his first day in the Host Club. Eri is "The Shy Type", although, it takes a lot to get him flustered. Eri's father is the CEO of Sakura Industries, who make health care products, as well as managing many charities.
