!!!!!MATURE 18++++!!!!!
Delphine O'Connor has been trained to look untouchable. As the eldest child of a high standing Irish pure blood family, she has spent years perfecting poise, swallowing humiliation, and keeping her little brother Ronan out of trouble, because if anything goes wrong, it reflects on her. She arrives at the Quidditch World Cup wrapped in Ireland's victory and her parents expectations, and leaves with the first taste of how quickly celebration can turn dangerous.
Back at Hogwarts for Harry Potter's fourth year, the Triwizard Tournament swallows the school whole. Quidditch is cancelled, traditions shift, and the castle becomes a pressure cooker of rumours, rivalries, and fear. Delphine thinks she can navigate it the way she always has, carefully and quietly, until Fred Weasley makes that impossible. He is a sixth year Gryffindor with a talent for chaos, a grin that never seems to falter, and a history of pranks that have hit Delphine far too often to be funny. She still wears the consequences of one of the twins' "experiments" on her skin, and she has never told on them. Not once. She would rather bleed than be called a snitch.
Then Professor Snape assigns Delphine to tutor Fred in Potions.
What starts as obligation turns into war fought in whispers and measured ingredients, in late night sessions and careful distance that keeps failing. Delphine is all rules and restraint. Fred is mischief and instinct. Neither of them wants to understand the other, but the closer they're forced to stand, the harder it becomes to pretend their hatred is simple.
Because at Hogwarts, enemies are easy. It's everything in between that burns.
