He was gone. Choked to death by the hand of the Mad Titan. Thor found himself unable to move on for every time he closed his eyes, the haunting image of Loki - struggling to breath air into his burning lungs - flooded through his head it rendered him awake with disturbing holler every single night. So Thor decided to cross the line and commit the forbidden, unholy crime. Anything to bring Loki back. That was, however, until the God of Thunder started to wonder if what he did was the biggest mistake, most selfish thing one could do to their own brother. He started to wonder if it'd be better for Loki to stay dead.

They thought he was dead. Thor watched him die. He thought he was dead, too, but he was alive. Barely, but alive. How was it possible when his neck was shattered? The question remains; how is it that he is alive? And how is he going to stop Thanos? (Spoilers for Infinity War) (Mildly graphic violence, some mild language, and dark-ish themes)

Loki escaped Thanos after being tortured by him , but he found himself in the same place he attacked before. Midgard.

After Thanos snaps half of the universe out of existence, Tony is grieving but his brain still won't stop asking questions. Like why on Earth did Loki leave Thor a stone covered in runes that looks suspiciously like a puzzle? He soon finds out that inside that little puzzle, the God of Lies left behind the truth. Loki is taken back to Asgard to face justice for his crimes against humanity, and Odin comes down hard on the marauding trickster. Thankfully, Thor still has a soft spot for his younger brother, and he's made a pitch to save Loki's skin that the King of the Nine Realms deems worthy. Now all Thor has to do is convince Earth's Mightiest Heroes that his slightly-psychotic, partially-evil, definitely-unstable brother can and should be rehabilitated on Earth while living in Avengers Tower. Easy, right? Right...
