Some girls are tough, but Daphne is tough in a different way. She lost her mother to a short fight with cancer when she was fourteen years old, leaving her alone with her father. After her death, he became depressed and slowly started to deteriorate for the last two years. But she doesn’t have time to dwell on it because the medical bills from both her father and mother are only piled upon every day bills for food, heat, water, and rent. Her father’s disabled checks don’t cover much, so Daphne got a job at the hardware store down the street, which helped a little bit more. Enter Ethan. After a few recurring appearances, he made her an offer she couldn’t refuse… literally. That’s how she ended up fighting in front of crowds in a deserted warehouse. It was illegal on many levels, but the cash she brought home every Friday and Saturday was impossible to turn down. On one of her regular nights of fighting, she met eyes with a stranger in the crowd. She didn’t think anything of his brooding stare; there were lots of creeps who came to watch the fight for the boobs and blood. But when she saw those same eyes the following Monday, everything changed. Who was this guy? How close is he trying to get to Daphne and why? How long can she continue this double life that puts her in danger so that she can save her father’s life? And the burning question Daphne has to decide: Is it all worth it?

Kelsey has to deal with boys telling her she plays a boys’ sport and that she isn’t as good because of being a girl. Kelsey isn’t one to back down from a challenge, so instead of quitting, she vows to prove that a girl can play ice hockey. Enter Dane Young. He’s the captain of Kelsey’s new team, and one of the major reasons she made it. Despite that, though, Dane is probably harder on her than the team’s coach. There are two things Harper Lynch wasn't expecting when she made out with an attractive stranger at her aunt's wedding. If living together isn't enough, Duke starts to go to Harper's school for the year, and immediately earns the status of the senior heartthrob. Suddenly, Harper, the girl who keeps mostly to herself and spends a lot of time in her room watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer marathons, is the envy of every girl in her high school. Harper couldn't care less, and despite that fact that she has insisted that she has in no interest in Duke, she is still subject to the wrath of jealous, catty bitches and the admiration of wide-eyed freshmen. Stereotypes. I hate them. On my first day at my new school, a girl in a blue and white cheerleader's uniform told me I 'looked like a cheerleader' and asked me to come to tryouts. I almost decked her. Blonde hair and blue eyes do not a cheerleader make. Cheerleaders can be bitchy and mean but they can also act all happy and excited and they can drool and swoon over Finn Wallace – the hands-down hottest guy in school – like there's no tomorrow. Me? Well, I'm just bitchy and mean. So someone please tell me why Finn Wallace is suddenly chasing after me? *This is NOT a Bridgit Mendler fan fiction* Copyright © 2013 CrayonChomper
