He finds Neteyam's stiff discipline arrogant and annoying. But disdain turns to curiosity when Aonung witnesses Neteyam's secret, exhausting late-night struggles in the water. Drawn together by the shared pressure of expectation, an unspoken truce forms in the darkness of the reef.

Neteyam realized they were the seeds of Eywa - only here, they did not float. Neteyam smiled softly, extending one of his arms, palm facing up. One of the seeds swam into his hand, resting comfortably. Ao'nung slowly sank down to his knees as well, brows furrowed in an unpleasant glare before bubbles escaped his lips in surprise at the sight in front of him. Neteyam glanced his way for a mere second before turning back to Eywa's little creations, watching as they circled his waist before finally swimming away.
