Davey Jacobs was the new kid. And boy, did he hate being the new kid. His whole life, Davey had gone to private school but now, since his father hurt his leg at work, he had to go to a public school. A public school, where he would have no friends. That is, until he meets Jack Kelly and his group of friends, dubbed the 'Newsies' due to their work selling the school newspaper and working on the school news team. Suddenly, Davey isn't so lonely anymore.

What could possibly make Spot so shaken up he'll hand over Brooklyn? What could make Jack so shaken he'd give up Manhattan? Only one thing: Race and David have been taken. But where? How? Why? But why do they care so much about them? Well, first we need to go back to the beginning. We need to go on their journey with them. From their first meeting, to working side by side in the strike, to growing closer and falling in love, and all the things in between, dealing with the problems their kinds face in the unforgiving world. But the whole thing is bigger than all of them. This isn't a fight for just Newsies anymore--it's a fight for love, family, friends, rights for all, and the fight for the right to exist in a world like this and the right to tell those stories. Antonio Higgins found his life as the Prince of the Kingdom of Manhattan to be quite bland. Going from one event to another, he longed for some excitement in his life. For something to happen. For his life to begin. When Racetrack Higgins and Spot Conlon see each other for the first time, it's love at first sight for Race. However, he's convinced that he could never win the heart of the King 'o Brooklyn.
