It was after the Cold War and right before America "killed" the ussr. The thing is though Country's can die it is possible you think. But it is not in a lot of cases like the Soviet Union. Russian empire is dead. And the Third Reich is to but not the Soviet Union. Even though everyone thought America killed The USSR which was multiple country's including Russia. He didn't. Until a few eventful run-ins with each other start changing their minds. They despise each other, and despite their drastic differences, start finding each other somewhat tolerable. They repeatedly deny their attraction to each other and hide their feelings out of pride. But even if they do eventually admit their feelings, there's another large problem. Their dads hate each other too. Their dads haven't forgiven each other and are still hung up about the war. So far, neither has America or Russia. Either way, it's not over.
