Introduction: After World War III, a radioactive phenomenon known as The Glow rewrote the laws of biology. Now, 95% of the population are "Glows," born with tattoos that channel power fueled by the Five Stages of Grief. The remaining 5%, the Zeros are powerless outcasts facing "Extinguishing" by the state. Society is stratified into five Degrees, where the elite live in shielded spires & the "Ash-Walkers" of Division 1: Ignis survive in the soot-choked slums of the Ash-Hollows.
