Está historia nos sitúa 3 años desde los eventos de The legend of Zelda: Tears of the kingdom. La paz prospera en Hyrule, en cada rincón de este vasto mundo. El castillo de Hyrule fue reconstruido casi en su totalidad y ya no flotaba en el aire. La princesa Zelda Bosphoramus Hyrule fue coronada reina de Hyrule. Los mounstro han desaparecido en su totalidad. La luna carmesí ha desaparecido en su totalidad. Yunobo maneja su compañía orgullosamente, Tureli entrena cada día más para poder heredar en un futuro el cargo de líder de los orni, Riju gobierna la región de gerudo que no se había visto tan pacífica nunca. Y Sidon está próximo a se padre. Sin embargo de entre todo eso, Link Greysword, el héroe de Hyrule está retirado y deprimido, recordando con tristeza a su familia difunta y a sus amigos caídos. Algo extraño que pasó fue que el clan yiga fue extinto misteriosamente hace meses. Nadie sabe quién fue, solo se sabe que fueron extinguidos. Volviendo con Link, este viajará con los sabios y Zelda al pasado con un objetivo claro, salvar a sus amigos del pasado alterno, ayudar a sus versiones del pasado alterno y salvar ese Hyrule para ponerle un alto al rey demonio, Ganondorf.
