What if you had been murdered? ~~~ Violetdust of ThunderClan was the definition of a perfect warrior, pare one thing. She hated StarClan. Not just a dislike or a disbelief, but deep, raging anger that's been accumulating since her kithood. She's the last cat to expect a dream from her warrior ancestors, but one night, a horrifying prophecy is delivered into Violetdust's paws. A prophecy that could destroy the Clans forever. Without hesitation, Violetdust decides to tell this prophecy to some more experienced cats and let them handle it instead. However, it seems someone out there wants to keep it a secret; on her way to the medicine cat's den, she's ambushed, and before she can see the face of her attacker, she was killed. The life of a wild warrior has always been unforgiving, but it is even more so back when the five Clans of the forest are younger- when the warrior code is still evolving, and battles are more frequent and deadly. As the harshest leaf-bare that the five Clans have ever seen descends on the forest, their survival becomes even more precarious. But, starvation and the cold threaten more than just Clan cats, and the brutal elements force Frost, a young rogue kit, to seek shelter in ShadowClan. Rejected by her father and orphaned after the death of her mother, Frost is left alone in ShadowClan. Although ShadowClan will not banish a kit in need, Frost struggles to feel as if she truly belongs there. As she grows from a kit to an apprentice and finally a warrior, she must fight to prove herself to her new Clan, while also unraveling the secrets of her parentage. But, the state of the forest is fragile, and a storm of war looms ever closer, threatening Frost's place in the Clan that she now calls home. This is a soft-reboot of Warriors- basically a fresh story with a new cast of characters and conflict, and some added worldbuilding around Clan culture and traditions. This story takes place in the Ancient Clans, specifically during the time period following the story "The Leader Who Sought Peace" found in "Battles of the Clans."
