At her small-town high school in Worcester, Massachusetts, Bethany Lee has always felt like she belongs. She has close friends, a steady boyfriend, and is talented and liked. For her, life isn't always easy, but she wears her life on her sleeve and knows who she is: cheerleader, girlfriend, and, hopefully, an aspiring actress one day. The only way it can get better is if she gets the part she wants in the school play, and finds out how to smooth things out with her long-standing boyfriend, Ben. But one day she begins suspecting that her life isn't as picture-perfect as she'd once thought it to be. And all it takes is a few secrets, a betrayal, and a dark-haired stranger that slowly starts becoming something more, to take all of what she'd built, and threaten to destroy it.
