Rose is insane. And not your everyday, whacko run-up-the-wall insane. She doesn't speak. She dreams of murder. She takes the head off of everything she owns. Her parents admit her into a psychiatric ward to see if they can fix her. But can she really be fixed?

Everyone has someone watching over them. You can feel them, they are the cold shiver that runs down your back or the shadow that makes you look twice. These people are called 'guardians' they are appointed at birth, they age with you and are supposed to be your soulmate. But things don't always go to plan. Some people don't meet their guardian, then time passes and they fall for someone else. Someone not part of the plan. But then what happens to their guardian? They turn dark.
