Racetrack Higgins is many things: a newsie, a gambler, witty, and smart. And he also wasn't born a boy. He can count the number of people who know that fun fact on one hand. It's a struggle to live as a boy while trying to make sure no one knows where he came from. Luckily, he has Jack to help him--a guy who wasn't born a guy, just like him. And he has Spot, who he may or not have feelings for, and who may or may not have more in common with him than he thinks. But this world is dangerous for people like Race. So he just needs to stand tall, and find his place in this dangerous world. Please, no homophobia, transphobia, profanities, slurs, hate etc. I DON'T OWN ANY OF THESE CHARACTERS. THEY ALL BELONG TO DISNEY. THIS STORY ALONE IS MINE.

Racetrack Higgins, a Manhattan Newsie. Spot Conlon's best friend and crush, not that they would admit that they have crushes on each other. No one knows about Racetrack's past, and not many people bothered to ask, until he started babying scars. He refused to tell them, but when Spot, then Race himself, gets kidnapped one day, how will they find and save Race and Spot? He'd be forced to tell them his past.
