A transformers prime fanfic [This is a rewritten version of an old story] --- War laid waste to Cybertron, leaving nothing in its wake. The time had come for Megatron and his legion to set their sights on new targets, for their home world could no longer support them. Before departing, the tyrant himself stumbled upon an intriguing discovery. A sparkling, alive and well, buried beneath the rubble. While he may be cold-hearted, something in his spark just wouldn't let him leave it. And so, he reluctantly brought the sparkling with him on his quest for power and eventually called it his own. --- Highest ranks: #3 sparkling, I do not own transformers or any of their characters.

When Megatron captures Optimus Prime with no intentions of letting him free, while still torturing the Autobots back at the base with videos, Optimus has to find a way to escape with his life or die trying while also reliving some of the past. Enslaved, emboldened, and now empowered, Megatronus was a perfect example of what could result from a corrupt system going unchecked. He wanted to challenge the High Council's authority, but he couldn't do it alone. So, he teams up with an archivist by the name of Orion Pax to take down the High Council, but finds that the odds are stacked against him, as they always have been. Sentinel Prime is portraying Megatronus as a cold-blooded killer in order to turn Cybertron against him. And since he won't be leading the bloodthirsty mob who wants nothing but chaos, someone else will step up to the plate.

During a battle with the Decepticons, Optimus is turned into a sparkling. Ratchet races against time to restore him before they lose the Optimus they know. The rest of the team tries to help their leader the best they can. Keeping him safe and also making sure he doesn't feel useless. Can they help him before the sparkling decides he needs to battle Megatron?
