"Who's out there?" One of the men yelled. Of course only silence met them. I remained quiet and waited for the group to start moving again. "Maybe it was just an animal." Someone whispered. The person, who I assumed was the captain of the small squad, signaled for them to walk again. They clearly showed fear as they kept going; brandishing their weapons to guard themselves with. "Two are holding lanterns. I'll tell you when you're too close to them." I heard my friend whisper in my ear. I followed the men as I picked up another branch and waited for the right time to break it. They continued to walk through the forest, turning their heads in every direction as if an animal might lunge at them and rip their throats out. I guess in a way I was going to do that. "Go back a few feet." My friend whispered. I carefully distanced myself from the group and waited. "Where is she?" I quickly snapped the stick as soon as he finished asking the question. They stopped and two soldiers raised their lanterns to shine its light in the darkness. I quickly hid behind a tree before both of them turned where I was. A low frustrated growl came from one of the men, "The girl's playing with us. She's out here following our every move." How paranoia can cloud the mind. At nine years old, Silver decided to leave her village for the forest. Since then, she's been hunted; everyday is a fight for her life, every breath she takes could be her last, but she's determined to stay alive. Her life isn't the kind anyone would want to live but she's managed to survive this long so, what's a few more years?

Book Two of The Ashes of Edrathis Trilogy Everything she thought she knew was a lie. Blair Nightwyck was raised to hate monsters. To hunt them. To believe her parents were slaughtered by the Shifters who tore the world apart. But monsters wear many faces. And the blood running through her veins isn't pure - it's ancient. It's powerful. It's forbidden. Her father was General Thomas Rivers, the Dragon of Volaris. Her mother, Princess Lyra of Solaria, the daughter of the last Fae Queen. And Blair... is the lost heir of two extinct kingdoms. The truth is poison - and now it's in her hands. If she embraces it, she could raise Solaria from its ashes and restore the kingdom her mother died for. If she rejects it, she could destroy everything her father once fought to protect. And standing at the center of her war-torn heart is Malachi Ryerson - the man she swore to hate, the dragon she was taught to fear, and the king she was never supposed to love. He's shown her mercy when he should have killed her. He's bled for his people when the world branded him a monster. And he's the one secret she can't bury, no matter how deep she runs. As kingdoms prepare for war and truth becomes a weapon, Blair must decide which crown she will wear- the one forged by blood, or the one forged by fire. Because love may save her kingdom... or burn it to the ground.

book 1 of The Ashes of Edrathis Trilogy Blair Nightwyck remembers nothing of her life before the war-only screams, fire, and her uncle's rough hands dragging her from the ashes. The story he told her was simple: her parents were slaughtered by a dragon during the Great War between Shifters and mankind. That the monsters deserved their extinction. That her survival was a curse she would spend the rest of her life repaying. For years she's been his weapon, his trapper-chasing and capturing what others fear, selling the rare and the dangerous for his profit while she dreams of freedom she'll never taste. Until the crown makes her an offer. A job dangerous enough to kill her. Lucrative enough to buy her freedom. All she has to do is work for the king-hunt creatures the realm believes extinct-and in return, she'll finally earn her way out of her uncle's chains. But when she meets Lieutenant Malachi Ryerson, the man assigned to train and accompany her, her carefully built world begins to unravel. He's powerful, commanding, impossibly magnetic-and hiding something that makes the air around him hum with danger. Something ancient. Something that should not exist. The deeper she's drawn into his shadow, the more she begins to question everything she's ever known about monsters, about the war... and about herself. Because in Edrathis, truth is as deadly as magic-and the monster she's been hunting may not be the one wearing claws.
