#1 Teen Fiction | #1 Young Adult | #1 Romance "We all need someone to drive us mad." - The Wombats. He stared arrogantly down at me, a smirk plastered across his face. I sneered up at him with distaste, wanting to wrap my fingers around his neck and strangle that smirk off of him. He brushed my golden hair from my face, his long, slender fingers sparking electricity in my skin, making my knees wobble together. "Will you ever, forgive me?" he whispered huskily, his eyes intently staring into mine. His face was only mere inches from me. I just needed to reach out a little further to kiss him... "Yeah. Over my dead body." I snapped, before throwing my arms out forcefully, shoving my hands into his chest, pushing him from me. -*-*-*- He, is Carter Williams. I, am Lacey Adams. We were once, inseparable. The 'Golden Couple'. The unbreakable best friends, that everybody envied. Nothing could get between us. A part from being tighter than white on rice, we updated our status from friends to being in a relationship, frequently. We were neighbours, which meant our families were all close and even co-owned houses around our town. This, all is, until the day of my sixteenth birthday. Everything changed. The loving relationship we shared, was severed and torn apart. I couldn't hardly stand to look at him any more, without spitting fire that is. Every day is torture being around him. He was in all my classes at school and the window in my room was even directly aligned with his. So, what happens? My mother's mum gets sick, so dad and her fly out. Just them. Leaving me to stay with Carter and his parents, who are never home. We would be alone. In one house. Under the same roof. If I was insane before, I have no idea what I am now. © 2016 by LaurenJ22. Eva Graham is a guarded, no-nonsense social science major who studies human behavior to understand why people leave-and how to make sure she never lets the wrong ones in. She keeps to herself, avoids drama, and especially avoids campus athletes, whom she considers walking red flags. Cole Grayson is a third-year psychology major, a cocky ice hockey star with a grin that disarms and a fanbase full of puck bunnies. While everyone sees him coasting, Cole's under constant pressure-trying to go pro, balancing school, and keeping up a charming front to hide just how much he's cracking underneath. When Cole starts slipping in class, he's assigned a tutor: Eva. Neither is thrilled. She thinks he's a loud, lazy distraction. He calls her "Teach" just to get under her skin-she responds by calling him "Skates," with just the right amount of disdain. What begins as bickering soon turns into banter... then something softer. The nicknames stick, becoming a quiet thread that ties them together as friends-and maybe more. Cole falls first. Hard. Eva, scared of being hurt and shaped by people who've left before, fights it. Still, she agrees to go to one of his games-just once. But seeing him on the ice, in his world, adored yet somehow still alone, shifts everything. Then the bet surfaces. A stupid, careless thing made before he really knew her-and it threatens to destroy everything they've built. Surrounded by puck bunnies stirring drama, teammates with their own loyalties, and a past Eva isn't ready to share, the fragile trust between them begins to crack. Between jealousy, late-night confessions, and moments where one look says everything, Eva and Cole must decide: is love worth risking it all-even if it started with a bet, a nickname, and everything going wrong?

Hoping to have a girls' trip and avoid people they know as they travel, Avery just happens to run into Ryder. The school's most arrogant, agitating and annoying guy. He's on a trip with his best friends Owen and Colton. What a coincidence, right? All it takes is one drunken girl, one drunken boy, and an unexpected one night stand for the hatred to build between these two. It's a fine line between love and hate and these just might cross it as they dance on the edge. Butterflies, racing hearts, tears, and stolen kisses. What happens in Rome, stays in Rome. Or does it?

"You're wrong. I don't like you this close," I say, arms crossing tightly. Mateo mirrors me, leaning against the opposite counter with maddening calm. "That makes two of us." I sigh, rolling my eyes. "Quit staring and get back to work." *** Andreea didn't expect her summer job to be the most thrilling one, but she sure as hell didn't anticipate being in such steady proximity to her temperamental pseudo-boss. On the other hand, the neat and well-organized Mateo is working in his father's restaurant, a role he has held long-term. He would've never foreseen a clumsy girl breaking the routine he's used to, and even less so that a long-buried feeling would resurface. Is the mutual hatred just a veil over a much more ardent feeling? Do opposites indeed attract? And what happens when a buried secret threatens to tear everything apart? Broken doorknobs, blue vehicles, and shared passions. Your cliché love & hate story that'll keep you hooked from the beginning.
