It's faded, like it has taken one too many trips in the back of a mail truck, tattered and worn. Eddie flips it over, the back scrawled with quick but somewhat neat handwriting-something personal. Scanning the words his eyes drop to the corner-the address. 'Maddie Kendall, 1500 Hemlock Ave, Hershey, PA 17033' What the hell? Or, An AU where Buck's postcards, which he sent to Maddie, were forwarded to Eddie on deployment by mistake through a Military Outreach Program. They become a reason for Eddie to hold on through the dark times, becoming attached to the man behind the letters and his stories of his travels. Until, by a twist of fate, they bring him face to face with Buck himself. This AU is canon divergent. Some things change but some stay the same.

This follows the events of 6x10. After Buck is released from the hospital, Eddie tries his hardest to comfort Buck as he grows restless from not being able to go to work. While doing so, their bond grows stronger than ever, raising suspicion amongst their co-workers..

The team is upset and disappointed in Bucks decision so they all decide to ignore him when he returns to work, especially Eddie who was hurt by the lawsuit. The team goes out to drink after their shift without Buck who also happened to go for a drink to drown his sorrows, when he sees his team celebrating a win without him, it crushes his soul so decides to leave the bar. Outside waiting for him, are two large men who had their eyes on buck for awhile. Will Buck be able to overcome his trauma? Will he open up to his team? What will Eddie do once he finds out the love of his life was hurt?
