Ling finally tried committing to something other than her career, the gym routine and a rotating roster of flings. She proposed. Her girlfriend laughed. Apparently, Ling's "I'm not a relationship person" reputation is harder to shake than she thought. Especially when her *actual* longest relationship is with her best friend, Orm, and the tiny child who bosses her around and claims "she's ours." Originally posted on my AO3 account. --- The usual disclaimer: The characters are obviously inspired by LingOrm, and there might be references to real-life events, but the story is purely fictional. English is not my first language, so my apologies for any potential mistakes. If you want to say hi, I'm on X: @yjkr94_LO Peace and Love, JKRs :)

Have you ever heard of a friendship crush? That strange feeling that lingers between admiration and love. It's not just wanting to be friends, but it's not quite something you can name, either. Just a quiet pull to get closer, to understand someone more deeply, without a clear reason why. Orm felt that for Lingling, a girl always within sight, yet never truly part of her world. They weren't friends, merely two people who knew each other from afar. And yet, for reasons she couldn't explain, Orm wanted to know her more. But the courage never came. Until graduation separated them, and that feeling slipped away, unspoken, unresolved. Then, fate brought them back together. In a foreign city, far from home. Under the sky of Melbourne, Orm, a student on exchange, searching for a place to stay and Lingling, offered her a place in her own home. What should've been ordinary turned complicated. There were tremors that shouldn't be there, emotions they couldn't control. And when their time was up, they returned to being strangers. But fate, it seemed, wasn't quite finished with them. Years later, they met again. This time, in Tokyo. Orm thought the feeling had died. But it hadn't. It had only been asleep-now awake, stronger, clearer, and far more painful.

🎬 Childhood friend to lover "Orm Kornnaphat, let's get married." This was Orm's first ever proposal. A moment that should have been joyful. But it wasn't. Lingling proposed at a funeral, under the first rainfall of the evening. What kind of lunatic would say yes to a proposal like that? No roses. No music. No ring. No one else around... just the two of them. And yet, Orm knew this wasn't an ordinary marriage. She also knew there was only one person left in this world she could still call her own. And she knew - without a doubt - that only she and Lingling could rely on each other now, to uncover who was behind the silent flames that wiped out their entire families in a single night. Orm took Lingling's hand. "Let's get married."

Five years ago, Orm and Lingling loved each other in secret, but life tore them apart. Orm stayed in Bangkok, trying to be the perfect daughter, med student, and fiancée-while Lingling rebuilt her life overseas, becoming a mother in her own terms. Now, fate pulls them back into each other's orbit. A chance encounter reignites all the feelings they tried to forget. Old wounds open, old sparks fly, and neither of them can deny what they still want. But with families, promises, and a child between them, nothing is simple. Sometimes the hardest thing is choosing your own happiness-especially when your heart never moved on.

Six years ago, Orm fell in love with someone she was never supposed to touch. Quiet, observant, and forever second-best, Orm carried her love for Ling like a secret storm - always waiting, never spoken. Ling was older. Out of reach. A ghost in and out of Orm's life, too afraid to love out loud. She left Bangkok, left Orm, and left behind a trail of silence she called protection. But memories don't leave easily. And neither does the rain. Now, years later, a photo exhibit built from heartbreak pulls them back together during a rainy Bangkok Songkran. The city is soaked. Old friends know and Orm and Ling must finally confront the truth neither of them dared say: What do you do when the person you've always loved is finally standing still long enough to choose you back? A slow-burn WLW love story full of longing, tension, rain-soaked nights, and quiet forgiveness.

When Orm and Ling first meet, nothing makes sense. The timing is wrong. The chemistry is inconvenient. Some people arrive in your life like fate. Some love stories begin long before you recognize them. This is a story about timing that never seems right, hearts that refuse to let go, and love that grows or dies in the small, quiet spaces. AU fluff story with slow burns, tangled emotions, friendship, and simmering love. Ongoing story, will try to update everyday.
