Jax and Pomni are in a secret but not-so-secret relationship. They think they're keeping the secret well, when really they're not.

When they are arguing, instead of lunging at Jax, Pomni looses it and tries to end it. She didn't think reaching a game over with the intention of it being permanent would lead to anything.
