Two families best kept secrets collide in a moment of fate itself. The Prince of Bronwyn and the Legacy of the Cardinals. Neither should exist. Both highly frowned upon and cursed for their very existence. A broken product of royal affair and the perfect unknown ploy for revenge. The weight of either alone would be enough to drive anyone mad, but together it may become something else entirely. Both such highly damaged individuals stretched to their wits end. What could the result be of one in the presence of the other? A disaster just waiting beneath the surface, a mix potent enough to kill, or maybe a cure neither one saw coming?

Julia is on the run, fleeing for her life. An army of vampires ravage her country, plundering villages and enslaving their occupants. With the vampire horde closing in, Julia is forced to abandon her home and head south with the hope of reuniting with her brother. There they will build a new farm and live in safety. But one vampire lord has a different plan for her future. He tracks her down and takes her captive. No matter how hopeless her situation, she never gives up, risking her life to regain her freedom. He forces her down, punishing her when her defiant spirit hinders his mission. It soon becomes clear that she's nothing like the human soldiers he's used to dealing with. A sense a guilt begins to grow whenever he upsets the girl who both fears and leans into him for protection. Julia and the vampire lord are connected in ways they had never known. Their lives become entangled, bringing them to make decisions they would've never thought possible. Extract from Chapter 1: He unsheathes his blade, and I suddenly wish that he'd go back to poking me. He's going to cut me while I can't move? To torture me? I start to panic again. "No, no, no." I yank on the restraints, and the rope bites into my skin. I pull and pull and try to shuffle away from him. He presses the blade against my neck, and I freeze. "Fearful," he says. I catch a glimpse of his freakishly long canines. The edge of the blade presses on my skin, just enough not to draw blood.

Vampires have conquered Julia's country, leaving her without friends, family or a place to call home. Caught in the middle of the war, a powerful vampire, Lord Rahlan, has fallen in love with her. Julia agrees to return to his home, hoping to begin a new family and have a place to call her own. Living in a land where humans only exist as slaves to serve and provide blood, Julia must ensure that she's recognized as Rahlan's partner instead of his property. As a lord, Rahlan expects to be obeyed without hesitation, and his will is never to be questioned. However, when his wrath falls upon the vulnerable, Julia bucks up against him, intending to protect others from losing what she's lost. Her constant resistance leads him to question her loyalty, and he wonders whether he can trust his unyielding woman. ››BOOK 2 OF PREY‹‹ I was born into a world forever meant to be against me. Into a world, I was never supposed to get the opportunity to know. Created as lowly property to the savage, blood-thirsty predators that have long since dominated these lands. It was a fate I'd once accepted without question. As awful as it was, it was all I had to cling to until the moment where even that got swept up under me by the vampire who I once believed would cause my life's end. Now I had a clear slate, a new beginning, and the worlds fiercest being right at my side.

The world had gone to hell long ago, taken over by the vampire race. In order to keep some sort of peace in our land, the Vampire Lords made a consecutive agreement. The rich and powerful humans could survive just as they had been, untouched by the vampires save for the occasional blood collections, or so they thought In reality, we were all under their control. Castles spread out throughout our land, one landing in each city. Each castle varied in the number of vampires residing there, but all of them carried a Lord. The Lords were the ones in charge in every city, whether we liked it or not. The vampires often roam through the city, making sure that everyone was in order and no one stepped out of line. If you stepped out of line, you died, end of story. Even if the rich were still under their control, their lives were still better than the poor. The poorest lives held a much worse fate. The men were to be put to work as slaves, whether that meant serving a specific vampire, or just building their castles, they were slaves. The women were to be pets. Pets were the lowest rank you could have. They were forced into cages that were too small to stand in with collars around their necks. They spent their lives in pet shops, just waiting for the dreadful day that they'll be bought. They were treated like animals, trained into what their master wanted, and punished if they misbehaved. Those who were lucky enough to live through that, we're to be slaughtered for their blood at age twenty-five in an act to make sure that our population would stay steady. I was born into this world. Born into this world full of blood-sucking monsters. Except, I was one of the lucky ones. Was. It all ended for me when I was 12, when I was taken away from the last bit of hope and family that I had left. Ever since then, I've lived in a cage, just rotting away, waiting, dreading for the day that some monster would make me his. This is my life. I am a pet. ~~~ Cover by: @mshacake

Blood is currency in the vampire court - and mercy is a weakness few survive. When Lina is dragged before the ruthless, newly crowned vampire prince Corvis, she expects what every noble taken by the court expects: fangs, feeding, and death. Humans are prey in this kingdom of immortals since they no longer hide in the shadows, little more than vessels to be drained and discarded once their blood runs dry. But Corvis does something no vampire prince should. He lets her live. Instead, he keeps her. Forced to remain at the prince's side, Lina becomes his personal source of blood - a living prisoner within the palace walls, fed well enough to survive and taken whenever the prince's hunger demands it. To the vampire court, the meaning is obvious. Humans exist to be fed upon. The prince has simply chosen to keep his prey close. Corvis himself is no gentler threat. Ruthless, feared, and utterly merciless to those who challenge him, the vampire prince rules through the power and violence he once was a victim to himself. Yet the longer Lina remains at his side, the clearer it becomes that the prince who feeds from her does not entirely understand the fragile humanity he has claimed. And in a palace where loyalty is bought in blood and betrayal lurks behind every velvet smile, Lina may discover a dangerous truth: Being spared by the most powerful monster in the kingdom might be far more perilous than being killed by him. #1 cruel ~ 26.03.2026
