Klaus Mikaelson, the original vampire-werewolf hybrid, has returned to New Orleans, the city his family helped build, the city from which he and his siblings - Elijah and Rebekah - were exiled a century ago by their relentless hunter father. Drawn back by a mysterious tip that a plot is brewing against him in the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter, Klaus is surprised that the city still feels like home to him despite the decades he's been away. Curious as to why Klaus would return to the one place he swore he would never set foot again, Elijah follows his brother and learns that the beautiful and rebellious werewolf Avery Marshall - Klaus' onetime flame and twin sister to Hayley Marshall - has also come to the French Quarter searching for clues to her family history. Avery has fallen into the hands of a powerful witch named Sophie Deveraux. When Sophie reveals to the brothers the almost unbelievable news that Avery is carrying Klaus' unborn children (twins), Elijah realizes that the Original family has been given a second chance at humanity and the redemption they desperately crave. Welcome to Mystic Falls, Virginia, a town steeped in rich history and tradition, which is quaint as long as it doesn't point to a tragic and sordid past. Uh oh... Elena and Ariana Gilbert are twin sisters, 17 year old girls who are feeling somber and lonely these days because of their parents' recent demise in a car crash that they survive. The twins live with their brother Jeremy, 15, and their aunt Jenna, who is young enough to only be referred to as Jenna, not Aunt. One day a hot, young, and mysterious fella (also, he's a secret vampire) named Stefan Salvatore arrives at school and quickly falls for Elena. Elena is still troubled though, so is Ariana, as Jeremy has fallen into the drug crowd and is chasing a slatternly girl named Vicki. Vicki also happens to be the sister of Elena's former boyfriend Matt. Unbeknownst to just about everyone, Stefan's brother Damon (also a vampire) has also appeared in town. But what happens when a THIRD Salvatore brother enters the mysterious plot? [DADS BEST FRIEND] You get a new apartment and seem to be doing fine, until you can't get your sofa up to your floor and the only person available for help, is your dads police officer best friend ;) Inspired by Jon Bernthal's police officer characters...

He is her uncle's best friend. Fifteen years older than her. The man who has known since she was eighteen. The man who walks into a room and somehow makes everyone notice. Jon is older, confident, protective, and completely woven into her family's life. He's the kind of man she should see as untouchable. A family friend. A trusted man. A line she should never cross. And yet... There's something about him that makes every rule feel a little harder to remember. The age gap was already a problem. The fact that he's her uncle's best friend? That's where the real trouble begins. Because wanting the one man you're absolutely not supposed to want has a way of turning every innocent moment into something dangerous. Fifteen years older. Completely off-limits. And unfortunately, exactly her type. 🖤

Jon Bernthal is my father's best friend-and the one man I was never supposed to want. What starts with lingering looks and forbidden chemistry quickly turns into stolen kisses, secret meetings, and a relationship neither of us can afford to reveal. He's older, grumpy, possessive, and determined to stay away from me. There's just one problem. He wants me just as badly as I want him. And secrets this dangerous never stay hidden forever.

He's her father's best friend. Someone she's known for years. Someone she trusts. Someone who should be completely off-limits. But slowly, something between them begins to change. Lingering looks turn into late-night conversations, innocent moments into undeniable tension, and feelings into a secret neither of them can ignore. The problem? No one can find out. Because some feelings are forbidden. And some secrets can destroy everything.
