The last case they had was of a young boy's abuse by his father. It had ended badly, the man had nearly killed Kevin, punched Rick, and almost broke the interrogation room's mirror. Gates had gotten after them for it, pushing the team to its limits. Now someone was finally breaking under the stress of the familiarity of that case and the pressure.
