They escaped the forest but didn't notice the monsters came back with them. Some things will never die. Eve returns home with the three boys but her mind is plagued by nightmares and grief, slowly descending into madness. The boys struggle to adjust to Eve's society as they try to help Eve's fragile state of mind. They try to change but they come to realize monsters can't change their scales as easily as Eve made it out to be. Meanwhile, Dylan, a childhood friend of Eve, begins to grow suspicious of the origins of the three mysterious boys and fears the worst for Eve. With his own sense of justice, he begins to try saving Eve from the boys using any means necessary. Sliding through the shadows of the dark forest, an old threat lurks waiting for the moment strike once again. Twisted secrets hide within the forest, however, most secrets are meant to stay buried. Eve, once again, has two more problems. Her mind refuses to listen to her desperate pleas of release. And the boys desperately want to kill Dylan.
