"You're beautiful, but cold." That is what Cassidy Coletti-Ivanova has always thought about Zephyrine Roy. And maybe she is right. In Ravenswood, Canada, sports matter more than personality. People care more about who you are on the ice or on the mountain than who you are when nobody is watching. Growing up together is supposed to be easy. Your parents are best friends, so you are raised side by side. For Zephyrine and Cassidy, it never worked. They were like oil and water. Zephyrine, the reckless snowboarder with blue eyes, pale skin, black hair, and a mouth full of sarcasm, learned how to act like she did not care about anything. Cassidy, the brunette figure skater with hazel eyes, warm olive skin, and too many expectations on her shoulders, learned to believe she would never be enough. No matter how hard everyone tried, the two girls still ended up hating each other. Or at least, that is what they tell themselves. Because beneath the rivalry, the comparisons, and everything they never say, they mirror each other more than either of them wants to admit. Both are haunted by the same ghost, and by a past that seems to creep closer every winter. Then Cassidy starts dating Zephyrine's brother. And suddenly, the girl Zephyrine has spent her whole life trying to push away is impossible to avoid. Maybe Cassidy dating Zephyrine's brother brings Cassidy closer to Zephyrine in all the ways she secretly wished it would... and brings Zephyrine closer to Cassidy in ways she never imagined she wanted. Because sometimes, the first person who taught you how to be cold... is also the one who starts melting the ice. P.S: This is the official starting point of the Zero Series. Before the rivalries. Before the medals. Before the ghosts. There was Irina Ivanova and Isabelle Rossi. It starts in 1989, in a town where winter lingers a little too long, and silence says more than people ever do. Irina Ivanova is the new girl. Quiet. Observant. The type who's used to arriving, never really staying. She's spent her life moving, learning how to take up less space, how to disappear when things get too loud. Isabelle Rossi is the opposite. Impossible to ignore. Popular. A little reckless. Everyone knows her. Or at least, they think they do. No one expects Isabelle to notice the new girl. But she does. And once she does, Irina gets pulled into something she never imagined for herself. What starts as friendship turns into something deeper. First love. First tears. A small, private world made of late drives, open windows, shared cigarettes, rooftops, and summers that somehow feel longer than winter ever did. Songs Isabelle only ever sings for Irina. Things she never lets anyone else hear. They become each other's firsts. And in a lot of ways, each other's center. Above Zero is a story about love before everything fell apart. About a time before grief shaped what came after. About how one connection can echo through years, through daughters, through everything that follows. Because some loves don't disappear. They become the reason everything else exists. PS: This is a prequel that can be read as a standalone. It is not book one, but it can be read on its own. It follows the series on my profile. This is book 0 of the ZERO Series.

She loved her once. She loves her still. Zephyrine Roy, a 20 year old snowboarder, and Cassidy Coletti Ivanova, a 20 year old figure skater, started as rivals. Somewhere between tension, devotion, and two years of building a life together, everything between them changed. Then one tragic accident changed it again. Cassidy wakes up missing two years of her life. The relationship, the memories, the version of Zeph she learned to love, all of it is gone. What's left is the girl she used to clash with and a life that no longer feels like hers. Zephyrine remembers everything. What happens when the girl she built a life with suddenly only remembers the version of her she used to hate? As Zeph leaves for Switzerland to chase her Olympic dream, distance and temptation test what time has already taken. Loving someone who doesn't remember you means learning how to wait, how to stay quiet, and how to keep choosing them without knowing if they'll ever choose you back. This is not a story about falling in love. It's about endurance, about holding on when it would be easier to let go, and about a girl who has never quit in life or in love. Because even when things freeze, the heart remembers what the mind forgets. P.S: This is book two in the Zero Series. It is recommended to read Below Zero on my profile before starting this book
