"Don't touch me," I stared into his dark and intense eyes. They hold a rich, inky darkness that catches the light only at the edges. So dark that they're almost black - shadowy and mysterious - but upon closer inspection, they reveal layers of warm brown hidden beneath.
"Is that a threat?" A subtle curve tugged at the corner of his mouth, not quite a smile. His eyes glinted with amusement. He took a step to close the distance between us.
"No, it's a warning." My voice sliced through the growing tension, like a scalpel: clean and exact. I wasn't going to play his games, at least not as a willing participant.
