Also posted on ao3 Sänume was never meant to exist. She was not Na'vi, not human. Eywa had marked her in a way that nobody could understand. Some people thought it was a thing. Others were not so sure. Her brother, So'lek was the one who never doubted her. He called her his shadow. She followed him everywhere. For some time that was enough. Then the war started. When Toruk Makto asked the clans to fight So'lek. Promised to come back. Sänume stayed behind. He kept his promise. She did not. Their clan got burned to ashes. Their people got killed. Sänume lost everything in the chaos, the ikran that was connected to her soul. When the forest became quiet she was all alone. The other clans did not see her as one of them. They saw her as someone who was too close to the enemy. So she learned to survive on her own without a home without a clan without anybody. While So'lek is sad, for a sister he thinks is dead Sänume moves quietly through Pandora. She is becoming something sharper and harder to break. Eywa does not mark people without a reason. Some bonds are not meant to stay broken.

"𝑾𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒕. 𝑩𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒚 𝒎𝒚 𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓." "𝑺𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖'𝒅 𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒚 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕?" ༄𖦹 Pay came from a renowned family of healers, the Ne'tte family who work alongside their Tsahik and Olo'eyktan (Ronal and Tonowari). Pay is a prodigy. She was able to match her mother's ability at a very young age, and because of that, her mother is extremely strict, not wanting Pay to lose focus on her duties. Ever since the Sully family sought refuge, her mother had become more protective, her grip tight around Pay's life. She doesn't want her going near Jake and Neytiri's children. She can only approach them when it's totally necessary, but never if it's not a call of duty, the reason being that the Sully children are raised very differently. She allows Pay to interact with Jake and Neytiri simply because he's Toruk Makto and Neytiri is a respected Na'vi, but she doesn't let Pay go near the children because they're all of similar ages, and they might influence and "corrupt" Pay with their different beliefs and practices. Tuk might be an exception though, because she's so much younger than Pay. Pay wanted nothing but to have more friends, and to explore the world she's so very deprived of. She almost thought that there was no hope, that her prayers will remain unanswered, but the Great Mother has another plan. She sent her something, someone. A man who cannot even exist in the same room as Pay. And of course, the will of Pay's mother will never match the will of Eywa. If it is the will of the Great Mother to have her pulled into the orbit of the eldest son of the Sullys, will she let the tides drag her along?

She feels the pull of life all around her, yet remains strangely untouched by it--disconnected, drifting, quietly breaking. To survive, she gives herself away piece by piece: her strength, her kindness, her pain. She protects. She loves. Until there is little left she believes belongs to her. Then war returns, and the Sky People bring fire and metal back to Pandora's shores. In the chaos, Nìvya is drawn into the path of Neteyam Sully--firstborn son of Toruk Makto. He is everything she is not: steady where she falters, rooted where she drifts. Yet beneath his discipline is a heart just as bruised by expectation, just as afraid of failing those he loves. As battle tears through reef and soul alike, love and duty collide with devastating force. Nìvya must confront the truth of who she is, why Eywa has always felt just out of reach, and what it truly means to belong--to a people, to a purpose, and to another heart. Because some bonds are not meant to save you. Some are meant to follow you beyond life itself. ©HiddingNightmare 2026 +++ Cover made by me! The ocean holds memory. It carries the weight of love, life and death. It remembered those who fought to protect their loved one. It remembered those who loved in their waters. And it remembered those who died fighting. However, when the water was still, no one seemed to listen. Except for one. Ka'ireya. Eldest daughter to Tonowari and Ronal, leaders of the Metkayina clan. Eldest sister and protector to Aonung and Tsireya. Ka'ireya was called upon Eywa as her greatest warrior, her prized fighter-the Great Mother's chosen one. That title in itself held weight and expectation. Ka'ireya was every bit the woman Eywa envisioned when she blessed her with the ancient power of the ocean. And when the Sully family arrived, she welcomed them with open arms. For she saw them as family, not the enemy. And when Ka'ireya's trust is earned, no one could go against her word. For the ocean spoke through her. Eywa spoke through her. Before their eyes met, Eywa had already deemed them mates. The chosen two to fight and save their people and family from the Sky People. Ka'ireya and Neteyam. Water and forest coming together to love, to live and to fight. A change was coming-and it started with them.

"Don't look away from me," He moved closer. And she couldn't. Kireyi herself was like the water, if he pushed she would pull, he learned that if he wanted to be closer to her he needed to see how she reacted to his own "movements" just as if he was swimming through the water. He was slowly learning how the girl acted and wanted to keep learning.
