This is a short story for a writing competition held by @SilverBirch and my prompt is.... 'You're locked inside a room with someone you love and someone you hate, but the feelings for each person will change before you get out.' Oooo... This is about Rene, stuck in an elevator with her current girlfriend and seemingly crazy ex-boyfriend. Rene had always had problems with choosing the right person, but when she left Jamie, her standards were staggeringly low. Yes, she was that freaked out. And that was how she met Haylie. Haylie was kind and the sort of person to volunteer at food banks and pet shelters. I know, I know, adorable. But Rene didn't expect to be trapped in a claustrophobia-inducing elevator with her favourite and least favourite persons. Still, only under the meticulous observation can you see someone's true colours. And when Rene really looked, what she saw was definitely not she expected.
