Vampires had been nothing more than myths for centuries. Creatures buried inside old folklore, horror novels, and whispered stories told to frighten children at night. Humanity believed monsters no longer existed. They were wrong. No one knew how it happened. One moment, ten friends were laughing beneath the glow of city lights, living ordinary lives in an ordinary world. The next, the ground split beneath their feet and darkness swallowed them whole.
