in a world where howard stark has a genius sister, the war doesn't just make a soldier. it makes a trio. steve rogers is the compass. bucky barnes is the heart. maxine stark is the spark with grease on her hands and sarcasm on her tongue, fixing radios, fixing rifles, fixing the people she loves because it's the only kind of praying she knows. ⋆˚࿔ but the future they used to joke about doesn't survive the 1940s. her lover falls from a train and the world calls it death. her best friend disappears into the ice and the world calls it heroic. and max gets too close to hydra's protocols, sees the pattern behind the cruelty, and hydra doesn't kill her. hydra keeps her. because she's useful. because she's leverage. because she's the one thing the winter soldiers body will still recognize when his mind won't. ⋆˚࿔ ⤷ ゛{ 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧 → 𝙘𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙡 𝙬𝙖𝙧 𝙖𝙪 } ˎˊ˗ 𝙗𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙮 𝙭 𝙊𝘾, 𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙩 & 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩, 𝙨𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙧𝙚𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙪𝙢𝙖 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮, 𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙩/𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩, 𝙝𝙮𝙙𝙧𝙖 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙧, 𝙛𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙮

What, never heard of her? Typical. She has more kills than the Winter Solider. She was taken when she was 4 for her powers. When she escaped she decided to keep her name. HYDRA thinks she is dead. They aren't looking for her. When Clint crashes the quinjet in the field beside her yard, she allows them to stay in her house, no one recognizes her. No one, until Winter walks through the door, and sees a girl that he valued like a sister come up the stairs to greet him and his new team. (This is set in a time and place where the Sokovia accords don't exist and Tony understood that Winter was not to blame for his parents death)

𝐈𝐍 𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐇, Bucky Barnes is drowning alive in his guilt that refuses to leave or let him breathe, festering within the dark corners of his mind like something waiting for him to drown in its dark stormy seas. There's no other word for it, she lies to everyone like it's a sport. Which is ironic, considering how much she hates being lied to. The only person who knows everything? Nicholas Fury, the man who had Ryan's files sealed and recruited her under heavily confidential circumstances. She works alone, in the dark, acting as SHIELD's personal cleaner of messes she never made. When strange things keep happening, Ryan uncovers a trail of corruption and bloodshed, all leading back to her. Without knowing who to trust, she has to keep sniffing out the truth on her own. Ryan is forced to stare her past in the face, realizing that she's not as in control as she would like. Will Ryan Knox continue to be a liar, or will she take a leap of trust and fight back like she was meant to? bucky barnes x f!oc (age gap) tws-thunderbolts

⚠️Under 18, DNI⚠️ After the flaming dumpster fire that was SHIELD's collapse and the whole "surprise, Hydra was here the whole damn time!" debacle, one former agent slipped through the cracks like a pissed-off ghost in a leather jacket. She vanished from the grid, reputation scorched, trust obliterated, and purpose? Shattered. Enter Tony Stark. Because of course it was Tony. He found her somewhere between a breakdown and a bar fight, took one look at the smudged eyeliner, the sarcasm-drenched trauma, and the "bite me" attitude-and said, "Yeah, I can work with that." He brought her in, tucked her away in the shadows of the compound, and trained her like a secret weapon no one saw coming. Four years of quiet sharpening. Four years of sweat, rage, Red Bull, and a whole lot of therapy avoidance. And when he finally deemed her ready? He unleashed her like a feral raccoon with a vengeance complex. Gone was the clean-cut SHIELD poster girl. In her place: chaos incarnate. Combat boots, chipped black nail polish, hair that looked like it had been in a fistfight with a Lisa Frank folder, and a mouth that could out-swear a sailor with road rage. The Avengers? They didn't know what to do with her. And yet. Two of the most emotionally constipated, chaos-flavored men on the roster found themselves utterly, stupidly hooked. Bucky Barnes tried to pretend he wasn't watching her-like she didn't short-circuit something in his brain every time she threw a knife with that smug little grin. But he noticed everything. Then there was Loki. The God of Trouble himself. She was unpredictable. Unrefined. Unapologetically alive. So now? It's a quiet war between two broody bastards who've never properly communicated a feeling in their lives, and the chaos gremlin woman who thinks emotional vulnerability is worse than waterboarding. There's blood. Banter. Probably some light property damage. Spoiler: it's not going well. But it's going loud.

"Well, she's a mimic. Y'know, monkey see, monkey do - but a bit more serious." "Yeah, just a bit more serious, Tony." When y/n and Bucky are saved from Hydra by the Avengers, they struggle to adapt to their newfound freedom. Finally being able to think for yourself is great, but nobody mentions the darkness of being alone with your thoughts. Y/n = 'your name', so insert your own name in! For this story y/n's pronouns will be she/her, but if anyone wants a version with different pronouns let me know! ***Paragraphing does get better as the book progresses!***

Romanova, Anastasia is the older sister of Romanova, Natalia. Anastasia was a way to pay off debt her father had with Dreykov. But when she was born, her father couldn't do it. It was his daughter. So she was taken, along with her sister. Anastasia fought against the Red Room and tried to protect Natasha. Dreykov saw a way to break her spirit and separated the two girls. At the time, the Red Room was trying a tactic HYDRA had been using for years. Wiping her memory and trigger words. Since the tactic was so brutal, even for the red room, they hadn't tried it on any of the women. But Dreykov was still angry with Anastasia for fighting and her father for going against their deal, and decided it was a way to punish them both. When Natasha escaped, Anastasia was told she was killed by Barton, Clint during a mission. In a fit of rage, Anastasia escaped and began to track down Barton. But instead, she found Natasha working with Barton and SHIELD. Anastasia watched Natasha with Barton and saw her smile, for the first time in years. She decided to let her be happy and disappeared into the shadows. And she hasn't been seen since... until Loki attacks.
