Allyanna Brooks has spent her entire life moving forward with the same people beside her. The same best friends. The same schools. The same path. Now, at twenty-eight years old, Ally is exactly where she's always dreamed of being-an Emergency Medicine resident at The Pitt, surrounded by the people who have become her family. She knows every hallway. Every nurse. Every attending. Every corner of the organized chaos she calls home. Then a staffing change changes everything. In two days, Ally is transferred to nights. A different world. A different team. A different life. And a night-shift attending named Jack Abbott. Quiet. Brilliant. Impossible to read. Abbott has spent years keeping his focus where it belongs: on his patients, his department, and surviving another shift. The last thing he wants is a new resident disrupting the carefully controlled rhythm of his nights. Especially one who talks too much. Drinks entirely too much Starbucks. Makes friends with everyone she meets. And somehow finds a way to make even the hardest shifts feel lighter. What begins as reluctant mentorship slowly becomes something neither of them expected. But hospitals are built on long hours, impossible decisions, heartbreaking losses, and the kind of sacrifices that follow you home. As Ally fights to prove she belongs on nights and Abbott struggles against feelings he never planned to have, both discover that some people have a way of changing your life when you least expect it. Set against the relentless pace of emergency medicine, this is a slow-burn romance about finding your place, letting go of the life you planned, and discovering that sometimes the people who change you most are the ones you never saw coming. Because in the emergency room, everything can change in a single shift. Including your heart.

Dr. Penelope Henry wasn't new to the PTMC, but this "situationship" as Princess called it, was new. Dr. Jack Abbot, the older, brooding, night shift attending had taken a liking to Penelope immediately, though opposite shifts kept them at a safe distance. That is until she switches to night shift for her last year as a resident. The two "Dark Clouds" of the PTMC were nearly the exact same person. Having both served, with the baggage and scars to prove it, there was an immediate attraction. Meeting someone so alike, who could understand everything no one else could, resulted in both butting heads and crossing professional boundaries. As the two navigate their complicated and frustrating feelings, they're forced to acknowledge parts of themselves they never wanted to. Hiii this is my first time writing a fic so please be nice but feel free to leave suggestions! Also, please don't expect medical accuracy in this story. My only medical background is an intense search history.

Dr. Carter Shea looks like she has it all together-bright smile, sharp wit, and signature pink scrubs that earned her the nickname "Dr. Barbie" long before she ever stepped foot inside The Pitt. She's bubbly, compassionate, and somehow manages to bring warmth into even the darkest trauma cases. But behind the charm and perfectly glossed smile is a woman running from an abusive past that nearly destroyed her. Starting over at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital is supposed to be nothing more than a fresh start. Keep her head down. Work the shifts. Don't let anyone get too close. Then she meets Dr. Jack Abbot. Quietly protective and impossible to intimidate, Jack sees the cracks beneath Carter's carefully crafted sunshine. What starts as teasing banter during impossible shifts slowly becomes something deeper-late-night coffee runs, shared silence after brutal cases, and the terrifying realization that Carter feels safe with him in a way she never has before. But healing isn't linear, and the past Carter escaped refuses to stay buried. As the chaos of the ER pushes them together, Carter must learn that surviving isn't the same as living-and that maybe Trauma Barbie deserves her own happy ending too.

So now she was in Pittsburgh, beginning her life again. Andy had a plan to build a better, more stable and healthy life, only that plan was very quickly hijacked by a closed off veteran with a dry sense of humour and an obsession for his work.

Dr. Eleanor "Nell" Carver is one of the senior residents in Pittsburgh's busiest ER . Relentlessly capable, and far better at saving other people than taking care of herself. Between endless night shifts, traumatic cases, and the quiet exhaustion of her own treatment, Nell is trying to hold together a life that never seems to slow down long enough for her to breathe. The one constant in the chaos is Dr. Jack Abbot - the attending physician who knows exactly when to push, when to stay quiet, and when to simply stand beside her. Their relationship is steady, private in all the ways that matter, and built in the spaces between ambulance sirens. But while Nell spends her shifts fighting for strangers, the people closest to her are struggling too. Her younger sister, Lois - the hospital's head chef - is trying to keep everyone fed while pretending she doesn't need looking after herself. And Nell's best friend Frank Langdon, freshly separated and emotionally unravelling beneath it all, finds himself unexpectedly drawn toward Lois in the middle of the hospital chaos.
