One built a reputation being good at being invisible - getting the job done, and leaving no trace. Maybe too good. The other restores what everyone else walks past. Old buildings, forgotten facades, the bones of things that are already there - no new complications. Lara flew in from Singapore expecting sand, sibling arguments, and absolutely nothing else. A visit to her brother at a base in the middle of the Mojave wasn't exactly a holiday - but mundane had its appeal. Nothing she hadn't already accounted for. Damon has survived things that don't make it into reports. A Singaporean architect expecting a quiet week in the desert was not in any of his files. Apparently his intel had gaps. Catching flights and feelings - sometimes you just have to lean into the cliché.

Amy's dream is to make it as a journalist, but her real life is very different. She struggles to pay her bills, her boss hates her, and the various odd jobs she takes on the side are only adding to the chaos. Then one day a punk rock fairy appears and offers her all the professional success she could ever want in exchange for a bad sex life. Summer is a fairy who recently got demoted for making a bad-sex deal with Donald Trump. He just wished for his hair to stay the same, but that might have helped him win the election. And fairies are not allowed to interfere in politics. They are also not allowed to kill cats, or accidentally tear down the wall between the fairy and the human realm, but guess what happens? The Setting: Springville is a Canadian border town with a good weather anomaly. It is known by its American neighbors for its unusually mild climate and eccentric inhabitants.
