The circus died with him. Christine (Pomni) went home first. Sprinted out of the building where everyone was spit out so fast she didn't see anyone's real face. When she knocks on the door, her mother breaks down in tears and pulled her into a hug. She had been missing for nine months. Nine months of questions she doesn't know how to answer. She tries to explain where she's been, but the words sound impossible-even to herself. Felix (Jax) returns to a house filled with memories he ran from. The last time he was there, he'd left after a fight with his mom's boyfriend. Awful words were said. But he ran, never looking back. Now he had to face the question he's been avoiding: after everything, does he still belong there? This is a story about two people rebuilding lives that kept moving without them. About finding familiarity in a world that no longer feels the same. And about a friendship that survives the circus-proving that even after everything falls apart, some connections don't disappear. In fact, they grow deeper... Most of it will have no major storyline and will be like a little slice-of-life book. The catch is if certain standards aren't met, and these children aren't parented well, then the adventure restarts. Pomni and Jax can't just coast through this or ignore these unwanted NPCs. They have to work together to take good care of them in order to be successful. But it's not like parenting is hard. They can go back to hating each other as soon as they appease Caine for one measly week. Pomni and Jax can do that, right?
