PONYBOY CURTIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOOD AT TWO THINGS: school and pining after Gabrielle McCormick from afar. Too bad she doesn't even know he exists. Gaby was everything a Soc is supposed to be-rich, beautiful, and completely wrapped up in her world of shopping, gossip, and status. To her, greasers were nothing more than troublemakers who don't belong in her perfectly manicured life. That was until her parents, desperate to get her grades up, forced her to get a tutor. Ponyboy Curtis, of all people, was assigned the job. Neither of them were happy about the arrangement. Yet, as forced study sessions turn into reluctant conversations, lines blurred between their worlds. Gaby couldn't deny there was something about him, something beyond the greasy hair and worn-out jackets. And maybe, just maybe, she was starting to see things differently. As for Pony, he may be book smart, but when it comes to love, he's about to learn just how stupid it can make you.

JULIET CURTIS HATED SHAKESPEARE. She hated the guy from the moment she found out her mother named her after the starring lady in one of his tragic tales. She couldn't wrap her head around how something could take such a dark turn in just a few pages. It seemed unrealistic, purely a fantasy. Oh how wrong she was. Her own life would take a tragic turn just like the Shakespearean plays. There were no jousts, beheadings, or poison, but there was death and more than one. Most of them she had no involvement in, but one. Dallas Winston was dead because Juliet loved him and he loved her back. Dallas loved very little, but when he did he loved hard. It's what made his end so ill-fated, Juliet's just the same. Their tale was truly just another Shakespearean tragedy.

JOSEPHINE VERONA HAD ALWAYS BEEN A BASKET CASE. She had been a basket case long before Hawkins turned strange. Between a father in prison for drug trafficking, a mother drowning her depression in alcohol, and two younger sisters depending on her for survival, Joey found her home life was far from perfect. Being a junkie herself just solidified that her family was a bunch of lunatics, but considering the environment she was raised in, a joint between her lips was the only way she knew how to numb everything. School was supposed to be a break from all of it. It wasn't. Because school meant she had to coexist with Steve 'The Hair' Harrington. Joey could no longer stand him and he didn't make it any easier. And thanks to her best friend dating his best friend, she was stuck orbiting his world whether she liked it or not. But when Hawkins begins to unravel with disappearances, monsters, and a darkness creeping just beneath the surface, Joey is dragged into a world she never asked for, forced to fight alongside the boy she swore she's hated since freshman year, only to realize that she never really hated him and he never really hated her. In a town built on secrets, survival, and supernatural chaos, falling for Steve Harrington all over again might be the cherry on top to this shit show.
