This background Information for the "Struggle for Olympus" science fiction series I am writing. The first book is out now on the site: Struggle for Olympus: Guardsmen.

The year is 2547. The Third Solar War grinds into its thirtieth year, a meat-grinder of ideals and bodies, fought across the bones of dead worlds. The Socialist Initiative is breaking. The Earth Defense Directorate, vast and unrelenting, closes its iron grip around the last resisting systems. Amidst this collapse, Master Sergeant Aken Rourke, a genetically engineered Guardsman born of doctrine and sacrifice, fights not for victory, but survival. There is no art now. No ideology. Only flame and steel, ash and silence. But war has always been a mask , and something else is watching behind it. A threat stirs at the edge of known space, and with it comes a reckoning older than humanity, colder than policy, and hungrier than any doctrine. The future of mankind will not be decided by heroes or visionaries. It will be carved by the last, furious breath of the damned, by the stubborn, the broken, and the betrayed... and not all of them are human. (This is a project I've been working on since 2010.)
