Hayden Jones didn't mean to blow up her high school gym. She just meant to graffiti it.
Now she's got a felony and a one-way ticket to some glorified boarding school in the Pacific Northwest.
Caldwell Academy is not a fresh start. It's a reform school with nice pamphlets and a fountain and a judge's order keeping her here. The kind of place where everyone's got a story they don't tell and a reason they can't leave.
She wasn't planning on making friends. She definitely wasn't planning on Elwood Hall and a bed six feet from a boy who doesn't smile, doesn't talk, and looks at her like she's a problem he didn't ask for.
She should've left it at that.
She should've left a lot of things at that.
Because Caldwell has rules. And the thing about Hayden Jones is she's never met one she wouldn't break - even the ones that exist to protect her.
