𝐈𝐍 𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐇, Bucky Barnes is drowning alive in his guilt that refuses to leave or let him breathe, festering within the dark of his mind like something willing him to drown in its dark seas. All it takes is one mute kid crashing into his life to break the cycle, allowing him to breathe - not for himself, but so that she can breathe as well. She stopped walking, making Bucky do the same. She grabbed his gloved hand, making him tense up at the sudden action. She took off the glove, which made Bucky grateful that she had grabbed his flesh hand. She traced something into his palm, which he recognized as letters. BAD. "Bad?" Bucky repeated, watching as she gave a small nod. "Okay, I'll take you to the police, they're nice and can help." She dropped his hand, shaking her head swiftly with wide eyes. Bucky furrowed his brows, waiting for her to do something to explain the situation. She scurried back over to him, and repeated her actions before of spelling out bad. "The police are bad too?" Bucky asked, not receiving a confirmation. "Okay, I'm taking you to-" Bucky was cut off when the girl shook her head fiercely once more, gripping onto the back of his pants once more as if to say that she was going to stay with him. His stomach sank, eyes focused on her set face. "No," he said firmly. "Kid, you can't stay with me." She tightened her hold on him, to the point where it got a little painful, not that he would ever acknowledge that. Bucky really tried to form a concrete plan of how to lose her that didn't end with her being in an unsafe situation, but found that he couldn't figure out anything without too many unknown variables. Bucky sighed, placing the glove back on and muttering to himself. "Ah, shit." It seemed as though Bucky Barnes had gotten himself into a sticky situation.

Born into HYDRA, Warren Barnes, the son of the Winter Soldier, has been treated like nothing more than an animal his entire life. A lab rat. An emotionless, thoughtless thing useful only for one thing: killing. When Warren is only three, through trial and error, HYDRA scientists manage to give him the ability to turn himself invisible. After that, he is just another child assassin. An assistant to the Winter Soldier. What HYDRA didn't take into account, though, is that little boys who can turn invisible have quite the knack for disappearing without a trace. Several months later, after being picked up by SHIELD, Warren now has to learn how to be a Boy, despite never having been treated as anything more than Animal. It's an especially hard thing to do when the biggest reminder of all has come crashing back into Warren's life. • This book has mature themes, like anything else you might see in a typical Marvel movie.
