|| Book 1 of The Shadow's Melody || As a maid here at the new Opéra Populaire I can certainly sense something different. Something missing. It lacked him. The Opera Ghost who disappeared. I know I should let it go. I know I shouldn't constantly think about a dead man. A murderer. But I simply can't. I can't forget about that man I fell in love with those many years ago. I yearned to hear his angelic voice again. I begged for it. Hoped for it. Prayed for it. I called for him in my dreams. The man they called The Phantom of the Opera. I would never have guessed that my hopes and prayers would soon be answered.

While visiting your father's workplace in 19th century France, you find yourself having to rush inside in of the Opera Populaire during a stormy night, for... obvious reasons. And that seemed fine. After all- aside from the sleeping ballerinas and a few other people, there wasn't supposed to be anyone around. Much less, walking around... However, that doesn't seem to be the case. You are quick to be whisked away by a masked stranger. After he fixes you up and allows you to stay the night with him, a powerful friendship begins to spark between the two of you, and you soon become an apprentice to the ever-so-famous opera ghost. You seem to know more about the events in the opera house than anyone else does- Christine Daaé, Joseph Buquet, Meg Giry, and even her own mother. You seem to hold as much knowledge as the man who brought you there. All seems well for a while. The operas, parties, drinking, and love triangles continue on as if nothing happened... That is, until you realize that you're in love with that man clad in black. *** Note: This story begins at around the same time that the musical does - when managers André and Firmin first take charge of the opera house. I tried to stay true to most of the story line, but there will be a few minor changes.

Elizabeth was adopted by the Daae family when she was just 4 years old. After the death of Gustave Daae when Elizabeth and Christine were 10, his trustworthy friend, Madame Giry, takes both Elizabeth and Christine to the opera house, where she lives. The story starts the day of the performance of "Hannibal" and through a winding sequences of events, Elizabeth finds herself down in the catacombs. And soon, comes face to face with Him. Christine couldn't see past His deformed features, but Elizabeth could. She learned to see the man behind the mask. She saw that he was no monster. He was simply a broken soul, who was looking for any ounce of affection. Christine couldn't understand why Elizabeth cared for him so much. Things escalated quite quickly when Raphael, Raoul's younger brother, comes to the Masquerade Ball. The brothers seemed to always intervene when they are not needed. But, what happened after that dreadful night after Don Juan? Well, I guess you will just have to read and see. #10 in #phantomoftheopera 9/5/19 #1 in #christinedaae 9/26/19 #5 in #phantom 9/30/19 #1 in #phantom 10/9/19 (I obviously don't own the rights to all of the Phantom characters. The only character that are mine own are Elizabeth, Raphael, and the kids. This is my first time writing, so please, bear with me. I've also made some changes to the story line, to fit in with the Elizabeth character.
