When the reef is no longer safe, the Sully family is forced to flee once more, this time into the unforgiving sands of the desert. The Ftunenisitawa clan, from sand and sky, are nothing like the forest or the sea. Hardened by heat, wind, and war, they survive where others would perish. Among them stands A'lo, the Tsahìk, sharp-eyed, unyielding, and bound to her people by duty stronger than blood. Neteyam remembers her. Years ago, when they were children, he and Kiri pulled her from the jaws of death after her clan was destroyed. But time has changed them both. A'lo is no longer the girl they save. She is a leader, a warrior, and a woman whose beliefs clash violently with Neteyam's own. Forced to fight side by side as war closes in, their resentment burns as fiercely as the desert sun. Every battle tests their loyalty, every loss carves deeper wounds, and every stolen moment threatens to unravel the paths Eywa has set before them. Because loving each other may cost them everything. And war does not spare the soft-hearted.

Between the roots of the Great Tree and the endless pull of the sea, two worlds collide-so do two hearts shaped by loss, duty, and silence. In a world where war scars the forest and the tide remembers every loss, love is not gentle-choosing each other may demand a price neither of you is ready to pay. Pay is a prodigy. She was able to match her mother's ability at a very young age, and because of that, her mother is extremely strict, not wanting Pay to lose focus on her duties. Ever since the Sully family sought refuge, her mother had become more protective, her grip tight around Pay's life. She doesn't want her going near Jake and Neytiri's children. She can only approach them when it's totally necessary, but never if it's not a call of duty, the reason being that the Sully children are raised very differently. She allows Pay to interact with Jake and Neytiri simply because he's Toruk Makto and Neytiri is a respected Na'vi, but she doesn't let Pay go near the children because they're all of similar ages, and they might influence and "corrupt" Pay with their different beliefs and practices. Tuk might be an exception though, because she's so much younger than Pay. Pay wanted nothing but to have more friends, and to explore the world she's so very deprived of. She almost thought that there was no hope, that her prayers will remain unanswered, but the Great Mother has another plan. She sent her something, someone. A man who cannot even exist in the same room as Pay. And of course, the will of Pay's mother will never match the will of Eywa. If it is the will of the Great Mother to have her pulled into the orbit of the eldest son of the Sullys, will she let the tides drag her along?

A reader x Neteyam au story based off the events that occurred after Avatar: The Way of Water. The story follows a young Metkayina girl, the eldest daughter of Tonowari and Ronal, Chief and Tsahik of the Metkayina. Aonung is her older brother whilst Tsireya her younger sister. She forms a close friendship with Lo'ak out of the Sully's, not paying too much mind to Neteyam before the battle of three brothers rocks. Neteyam survives the bullet wound from the final battle, although he is badly injured and isn't able to use his legs. Y/N is assigned to take care of Neteyam, helping him with simple tasks and eventually guiding him to learn to use his legs again. Their relationship is tender and kind as it flourishes into treading over the lines of what is classified as friends or more... I don't incorporate any cringe, tacky, or weird dialogue. I try my best to be faithful to each character in the avatar trilogy and respect their characteristics. I try my up most best to capture Neteyams personality as he is in avatar the way of water and fire and ash. I try to write as detailed as possible! This is a slow burn friends to lovers story! Hope you enjoy!

The sea gives. And the sea takes. Aerya is a true Metkayina - always has been, and always will be. She knows the rules of the sea, especially as she prepares to become the next Tsahìk. Her future is already written... or so she believes. But everything begins to shift when the newcomers from the Omatikaya arrive. Neteyam is a forest-born warrior, steady and brave, and somehow he catches the attention of Aerya - the Olo'eyktan's daughter, who knows better than to let her heart wander. As feelings begin to grow, Neteyam only tries harder to reach her, while Aerya keeps pushing him away, afraid of what loving him would cost. What she forgets is this: He is, after all, Toruk Makto's son. A Neteyam × OC story Inspired by Avatar: The Way of Water
