In Victorian England, Cassandra-a woman defined by loneliness and a lack of understanding of her own world-finds herself held prisoner in a remote castle inhabited by Gerard, a vampire as cruel as he is enigmatic. What begins as a relationship rooted in fear, manipulation, and psychological violence slowly evolves into a complex game of emotional dependency; Cassandra attempts to fathom the monster holding her captive, while he strives to keep his past buried. Amidst conversations about death, tension-filled silences, and a deeply destructive attraction, both are confronted with an impossible question: can humanity exist within a monster, or is it merely another illusion born of suffering?
