After the events of Caramel, Wilson and Brando have to navigate their new life in California, away from the Texas scene. Facing trials and tribulations, discovering new parts about themselves and each other, all the while trying to maintain a healthy, happy relationship. The sequel to my previous fanfic (The Story- W+B forever?), do Bran and Wil have what it takes to love each other under all circumstances- that being long distance? Or in the presence of unloving parents? Just remember, it's not the end of the story...

A story about leaving, returning, and everything you almost said. Wilson Webber never meant to come back to Laredo. Not after last summer, not after the postcards, and definitely not after the goodbye that wasn't really a goodbye. But now he's back, older, quieter, wearing Brando Copeland's old brown jacket like a dare. Brando's still the golden boy of their nowhere Texas town, baseball trophies, perfect girlfriend, and a heart full of secrets he's been pretending don't matter. Until Wilson shows up and everything he buried starts clawing its way out. Between late-night bonfires, crumbling friendships, mixtapes that say too much, and a summer that tastes like dust and maybe-love, the past refuses to stay gone. Because sometimes the hardest thing isn't leaving, it's coming home to the person you used to be.

This is a mlm, kinda slow burn story based on the 'This Song' Music Video by Conan Gray, it's not fully based on it, but I use key scenes and characters. I would HIGHLY recommend that you watch the mv first. Although that is optional. This story has 0 smu.t but there is some kissing. A few triggers! : Homophobia, Religion, Swearing, Bullying and a few other moments that may trigger people, but it's unlikely. So just read at your own risk (it shouldn't be bad). All and all everything should make a bit of sense if you've watched the music video. I'll update weekly! And it should be proof-read already so hopefully there isn't any spelling mistakes. Anyways that should be it! Hope you love it, lots of love, nat !!

One residency. Two songwriters. A church full of ghosts and a past they don't talk about. Milo writes like no one's listening. Conan sings like he's still trying to be heard. They weren't supposed to fall for each other-but somewhere between verses, they do.

It's the summer after senior year, and everything is changing--especially for Wilson and Brando. They've always been inseparable. But as the long summer days stretch on, something between them begins to shift, and the lines of their friendship start to blur. They don't talk about it--not really. They pretend not to notice the lingering glances hidden between the laughter, the way Wilson's gaze lingers too long when he thinks Brando isn't looking. But Wilson feels it--in the brush of Brando's hand, in the silence that stretches between words. Neither of them knows if the other feels it too... or if saying it out loud would ruin the fragile harmony they share. A slow-burn summer romance about friendship, unspoken feelings, and discovering love where you least expected it. (Inspired by "This Song" by Conan Gray)

When Wilson returns to their small Texas hometown for the summer, old flames between him and Brando reignite-bringing with them all the hope, longing, and complications they tried to leave behind. As they slip into familiar rhythms and stolen moments, the weight of unspoken truths and hidden fears grows heavier. Brando struggles to hold on without losing himself, while Wilson wrestles with choices that could pull them apart forever. Amidst the heat of summer nights and the quiet ache of goodbye, they must confront what love really means-and whether some things are worth fighting for, or letting go. (Inspired by "Vodka Cranberry" by Conan Gray)
